I went from wanting to dry my milk and mix feeding because the pain was so bad, to full time feeding, packed away the pump and threw away the formula! Leonie was a "Breast Whisperer" she diagnosed me with a variety of issues, taught me how to deal with them and early prevention of things like mastitis. So when it came I was prepared did what she instructed and never had to go to the Dr for it! Highly recommend her!

After struggling with incredible pain feeding my newborn I found Leonies details on the breastfeeding associations site. She came the day after we got out of hospital and was a godsend! She was professional and caring while addressing technique and feeding schedules. She is also a midwife and nurse so she knows her stuff. Leonie provided help sheets and a personalized plan for us. Then she followed up via email and post which was great to have as I had forgotten some of the info. Unfortunately my struggles continued due to poor latching however with her constant phone support I preserved and am still breastfeeding my baby at almost 6 months later. Honestly, it is her help that kept me going and now my bub has had the best start in life. Her fees are very reasonable and she gets it done promptly to avoid a big bill, so worth the money. I could also claim lots back from my private health fund as she is a midwife....some consultants aren't. Highly recommend for anyone wanting to breastfeed!

My husband and I hired Leonie for our first daughter after she wasn't putting on the weight she needed to and during a time when I was having extreme pain during breast feeding (2 weeks old). Leonie came out to our home the same day I rang her and spent two hours with us. Her fees for that two hours was $140 ($70/hr). When she left I felt like an angel had just been to visit me. I was struggling a lot at that time both physically and mentally. I was determined to breast feed but with the extreme pain I was having I didn't know how I could persevere. She diagnosed me with a medical condition called vaso constriction which explained the extreme pain, latching issues, and nipple damage due to delayed milk supply, and a continued low milk supply.... but with all those issues stacked against me she still got me on the road to recovery. After that initial visit she continued to keep in contact. First daily, then every other day, then a couple times a week, then once a week, then once every fortnight, then once a month.... for six months she continued to keep monitoring my progress. I'd often be on the phone with her for 10-15 minutes a call, and all of that time was included in the two hours she spent on that first day. If that's not value for your money nothing is. Not that you can put a price tag on the mental health that resulted in her helping me. Now, twelve months later and my daughter and I are still successfully breast feeding. Through clogged ducts, a bout of mastitis, and continued vaso constriction issues I have been able to do this only through the help of Leonie. I can't thank her enough or recommend her highly enough. When we have our second baby should we have difficulties again she will be the first phone call I make.

Leonie is an amazing lactation consultant. She has come out and helped me with both my boys. She is so wonderful and caring. I know I would not have been successful breastfeeding had it not been for her help.
Her prices are reasonable and she comes to your house; which lets face it, who wants to go out to someone's office with a new baby!
