I recently called this medical centre to enquire about the waiting time, as I have done so many times before with no problem.
However this time my experience with the receptionist was appalling.
She abruptly asked "who she was speaking to?"
And when I answered " a patient "
She hung up on me.
I've previously worked as a medical receptionist myself & am very aware of the protocol. Eureka medical is a walk in centre, so as I am not making an appointment my name is completely irrelevant to the receptionist.
When I made this point, she continued with her very rude & unprofessional mannerism & again hung up on me.
I will be making a formal complaint to the manager. A medical centre requires sensitivety as well as professionalism and I was not given either of those.
Very disappointed.

For a Sunday morning in Ballarat, it's either Eureka Clinic or the hospital (as far as I know). I tossed up whether to wait until Monday because I heard that Eureka Centre gets crowded and there's a long wait. I packed a book and a thermos of coffee just in case. ;)

As I went in reasonably early, there weren't too many people waiting. The lady at the desk was efficient and professional, if not warm in her manner.

I had barely sat down and I was called in. I saw Dr Hameedullah who asked all of the right questions and sent me off with a script. It was all done within a reasonable time frame.

This is not the same experience as seeing my regular doctor who is elsewhere. We have a longstanding patient:doctor relationship and there's a certain level of care that I get from going to the same guy for eight years. HOWEVER, the experience at Eureka was professional and thorough. I expected some specific questioning, a diagnosis and a course of treatment. This is what I got and it was more than adequate.

I cannot remember the last time I waited such a short time in the reception area. I know I lucked it in with the wait. I know that some have complained about the ambiance of the waiting area, but I found it to be comfortable and it had lots of natural light. The receptionist told me when I checked in where the toilets are - a courtesy that I've never had at any other clinic. All up, it was a good experience and I haven't had to worry until tomorrow (Monday) about what's wrong with me.

Bulk billed.

I have been to Eureka medical centre almost 3 to 4 times over the last 6 mths due to various medical issues with myself or kids .Everytime I was seen by a dr within 10 minutes and I was attended to very well .I was pretty satisfied by the different drs I saw but here there is an option of having your own regular dr if u want to see someone specific . it's bulk billed which is great and walk in so no worries about appointment or getting late and now as I was told by the staff there that centre has doubled the number of drs (18 drs now ) working there which explains the ultrashort waiting times now. There has been a huge positive change since last year which is great.

I'm glad they have gone back to bulk-billing.
I only go if desperate on a Friday night, Saturday or Sunday when other medical centres are closed.
On average I've usually waited about 1hr & 10mins to 1hr & 30mins.
I've only ever had male GP's and they all have been nice enough and have certainly helped.
It's a shame there isn't more GP's available to take the load off sick patients waiting.
And worse still there is only one receptionist so if there is a queue you are kept standing in line for sometime ill.
I've never come across a friendly receptionist there and therefore make you feel like a second rate citizen, just what you don't need when you are feeling vulnerable and unwell.
Also having one receptionist covering such an enormous waiting room I haven't felt safe at night time as one particular time a couple clearly drug users where having a swearing domestic fight right in front of children and nothing was done about it. So you have to look out for your own safety there.
Although I have to say the staff in the chemist shop below the medical clinic are very friendly.

What can i say about this place but dreadfull approx 6 visits they did nothing but refuse to fill in dsp claim form which is a breach of gmp practice codes and the law then filled it in to fail, refused a medication i had to get elsewhere, and made rather odd remarks like your tendinosis is not physical or mental?,i wish he could feel the pain that was only fixed from going elsewhere, was told on the first visit after 2 hours wait go back to reception we dont have records on you(dsp claim of course will think of any excuse)?might have something to do with that i have not been there before.poor treatment did nothing they make money! i asked for my doctors notes what came after 2 weeks was a bill stating amount outstanding? but no medical records offensive!

It was New Year's Eve and I needed to have some stitches removed. My regular GP started a month holiday just before Christmas. I called the Eureka Medical Centre to see if they were open. They were. When I explained what I wanted the person who answered the phone said there were a lot of people yet to be seen and suggested I come in the next day. The next day I walked to the bus stop. I got chest pains along the way and continued to the bus stop. When I reached Eureka Medical Center I explained to the receptionist that I came to get the stitches removed and along the way I had started having chest pains. She finished her entry and then immediately took me back to the nurse who did an ECG. It looked good but I still had the pain. He started the standard treatments. The doctor came in and they continued those treatments to no avail. The doctor decided to call an ambulance. While we waited the doctor took out my stitches. The paramedics arrived and continued treatment including morphine. But the pain did not go away. So the paramedics took me to the Base Hosptial.

I had wonderful service at Eureka Medical Center. The other people in the waiting room might not have been there. And it was bulk billed.

It was one of the worst chest pains I've felt. They admitted me to Base Hospital, kept me there a week and never found anything wrong with me.

Went in here for a flue injection with my husband at about 6.45 pm, was prepared for a long wait , but was in and out in just over a hour, which was really good. Lady at front desk could have had someone working with her, with trying to answer phone, and process customers she was quite busy, but still friendly. Doctor was understanding and didnt hurry us, even though the waiting room had quite a few in it.Best of all no charge for anything.

i recently went here when i had really bad headache's where panadol didn't help at all and to have the Doctor give me stronger stuff (that didn't help at all but made me feel like shit!) so i went back and the the doctor upped the dosage (which was above the recommended amount) and told me the only way to get rid of the headache was to have me knocked out all weekend. but all it did was made me feel even worse! and i stopped talking them and went back and saw a different doctor which gave me different stuff which helped so much (but it taste like shit!) and they were gone with in days and i didn't feel like crap with the unlike that other stuff
thumbs down for the first doctor who i don't know if he knew what he was doing
thumbs up to the second doctor who knew what would help it

Hi Justbeinghonest, while we appreciate your comments and empathize with your predicament, no medical practitioner is able to predict when a particular patient will have an adverse reaction to a prescribed medication, nor will he/she be able to determine its overall success. Despite your negative experience, we hope that you have obtained an accurate diagnosis and agreeable treatment option, which has resolved the issue at hand. Regards, Reeces
