Such a big serving and a satisfactory chocolate hit. This ice crea is very creamy and satisfying. Quite a few different flavours available too.

I have been to this place at its original location in Double Bay before it moved to China Town. It's now back in Double Bay but different location. The ice cream and gelato are to die for. The coconut is the best I have tasted. Also hazelnut, pistachio, all of them actually.

Approximate cost: $10

I love gelato!!! I've had gelato all over the world and in many places in Italy and France but I think that the gelato at the French Riviera is truly exceptional. The flavours are simple - no basil, spinach or octopus flavours (I had the latter one in Japan)!!! The gelato itself is not "glossy" as it so often seems to be everywhere else, and you can tell that it's freshly made. My favourite is "la poire", the pear. It's delicate and refreshing, and delicious! The owners, Julie and Jean-paul are very very friendly and, if you know some French, you can practise your French with them!!!
Miam, miam!

A "serving for one" here can easily feed three people. Extremely good value for money in terms of portion size. BUT, the actual quality of the icecream is severely lacking - it tastes grainy, not at all creamy, very sugary, and just plain disappointing. Service could do with some work too, as if you're seated in the upstairs section, you can be forgotten. Upstairs lighting and ambience is very poor too. Overall, too expensive for the quality of icecream you get.

Nice position to have ice cream after dinner, they have a nice 2 scoop cup take away for a reasonable price. Quite a few flavours to be had. Their sundaes are always fantastic, i have had a 10 person sundae with a group of friends and we could barely finish it! The presentation was wonderful and the ice cream tasted even better. Sometimes the service is slow when its really busy, but the ice cream makes up for it.

I only had a gelato whilst passing, but this place has some of the most amazing looking sundae's and desserts. It's not uncommon to see 4 or 5 people all eating from the one bowl of gelato/icecream in the centre of the table.

Approximate cost: $4+
