My wife purchased vouchers for kayaking in Brisbane as a family activity on my birthday. She booked via Groupon’s online booking tool and received a confirmation email.
When we arrived the staff could not find our booking and as the session was fully booked we were turned away. We then had hours to kill before our dinner reservations.
Groupon = ruined birthday
We immediately contacted Groupon to ask for a refund as my birthday had passed. They tried all the dirty tricks (changing agents in the middle of online chat; failing to meet any of their own deadlines; and offering us a credit on their UK website - I have copies of all their emails to prove these allegations) to avoid giving a refund.
To be fair I must say that the staff at River Life were amazing in helping us secure a refund from Groupon.
After five long weeks of broken promises and terrible customer service, we finally received a refund - but not before they offered credit on their Groupon UK website!

Bought a coupon, no reminders of stingy 3 month expiry, complete waste of $90. Useless customer service, zero interest in retaining customers. The places on groupon are discounted for a reason - the mechanic i called initially (had to cancel due to work) jacked price up over the phone. You get what you pay for, though in my case i got nothing for what I paid.

There is nothing that would ever motivate me to use groupon again, and i urge anyone reading this to avoid like the plague.

On Tuesday 4th April 2023 I purchased a Pancake Parlour Knox: Choice of Breakfast for Two People for $23.90. When I went to the Pancake Parlour Knox and I had a Traditional Bacon and Eggs with hash browns and no Bacon with a Vienna Hot Chocolate but the eggs were raw because as soon as I got home I had diarrhoea because they obviously were deliberately trying to food poison me. It was extremely nice of Groupon to refund me as a once off goodwill gesture since I got sick from eating the meal.

These guys are rubbish
I got a voucher and a week later went to use it only to be told by the restaurant that they will not honour the voucher. Getting a refund is impossible and the credit is impossible to use. DON’T USE GROUPON. THEY SUCK.

After sending and receiving multiples with Groupon Customer Support, Groupon refuses to refund or extend a voucher I bought right before COVID-19. As the business was shut down for the whole period of my voucher, it was impossible for me to use it. Now that the business is up and running, my money is lost, as Groupon will not extend the voucher. At this point, it is practically stealing...

I have purchased a fair few times from groupon. They have awesome deals on activities, accomadation, restaurant's ect. I have brought as gifts for others to. I brught my parents are Yarra Valley Lunch and they loved it.

i have purchased lots of deals from groupon .it is a great way of getting very cheap deals on line.we purchased a great deal for two people for only $29 and had a great night-groupon will send you emails with all their deals and if you go on website you can type in your location and view all deals within your area.

So far .so good.I am really enjoying reading reviews before leaving feedback,to get different perspectives of different peoples opinions and the different range of services that the community bring..good for deals.great and an easy service to use.

I checked information and made sure a business was opened before I went to redeem a voucher. When I arrived at the location there were no signs that restaurant would be opening on time and it didn't. I contacted Groupon was informed that there needed to be an "investigation" a few days later I was informed that they were "still seeking solutions". I rang the company and was informed that I would need to allow 7 working days because there were a lot of complaints to investigate. Australia Day means that I will need to wait even longer. If I was with any other company I would have the amount returned to me as credit to use on another deal. I was planning to make another purchase from Groupon but will not now. Groupon where admin is more importen than customers.

I bought so many good deals on groupons. Its good to read the review befor you buy the deal. Sometimes there is a catch, but if you read the condition, you will be fine.

It's a good site where you can find the deals in your local area with the cheap price. I have used their service once, it was ok. I have tried to call then but always busy

Placed an order in Dec last year for a pair of shoes, received one notification stating that it may not reach before christmas, but no later than 7-10 days later. Now in end of Feb 2014, and they have just decided to cancel my order and refund my money, but very little would have been done without myself instigating contact, plus they thought it a huge joke, sorry, I was not impressed personally. Steer clear of this mob, nothing but lies and excuses for the obviously inexcusable.

Groupon is a most welcome email every day. They offer discounted meals, trips, jewellery... all sorts of things.

We bought a dinner and show for two at a Brazilian Restaurant in Brisbane a couple of years ago, and a week before our booked date, the restaurant called and said they were closing down. Groupon gave us an immediate refund.

Always check this site at least once a day. It has great value deals, which are at least half price. I have bought multiple deals from this site and keep comming back for more. This is a great website and I urge anyone to try it. Very pleased.

Groupon is a fantastic site that contains a huge range of shopping, food, health and travel deals. I have genially had positive experiences. The trick is to thoroughly read all fingerprint and search up the place before buying. You may find the images they use on groupon appear nothing like the actual shop, so be aware. Other than that, the prices are very good. I would recommend this site to everyone.

This is one of the most reputable and fair daily deal sites around. I have managed to get a refund "no questions asked" a number of time because either I asked for a refund within 7 days of their "change of minde" policy or the supplier couldn't fit me in at an appropriate time. This is how it should be. Don't use Scoopon they are terrible and will never give you back your money even though they have a refund policy on their website.

Its a good website for getting discounted items or services for beauty etc

The telephone support is very slack, I was on hold for 20 minutes and still no answer from a customer service representative.

I have now purchased 6 different vouchers for many places. This is a great website for taking out your family or a group of friends. You save a huge amount- I have been paying half price for quite a few meals recently! I've had no troubles at all in obtaining vouchers and all the experiences I've had have been positive.

It took 3 months of back and forth communications and they kept telling me its coming in the mail be patient. Now the other day they send me an email saying we will give you a groupon voucher for how much you paid for the item. I sent them an email requesting my money back and what a surprise NO ANSWER... I have been polite and patient so far. Since then I have called and finally received my money back it took a bit of convincing

With the last voucher I purchased from this company, I did not get the treatment I thought I was paying for.
I have since spent the past 7 weeks (so far) trying to get someone from Groupon to contact me in regards to getting a refund but all I get each time is an automated response saying someone will contact me in 72 hours.
Some of the deals they advertise are not that much cheaper than what the companies are already offering, so do your due diligence before purchasing. (I'd even go so far as to ask the Retailer what deal they would give you if you purchased direct.)
Also, ensure that whatever voucher you are getting, that you are happy to potentially say goodbye to the money if you are not happy with the outcome, as Groupon have no customer service beyond taking your money.
I will not be purchasing any more vouchers from this company.
UPDATE - I persisted with trying to contact Groupon but gave up after about 3 months. No-one ever contacted me, and I never received anything more than the automated email response from them.

Groupon is an amazing website to save some cash. Easy to use, affordable, and in the interest of the customers.

Groupon is just absolutely excellent. I have saved a couple dollars on so many occasions, I must be saving hundreds in total. Its s easy to use, and so worth while.

I've booked a few restaurants via Groupon and all of my experiences so far have been amazing! I've saved over half price for all the restaurants and the food ranged from hotel buffets to authentic Japanese cuisine. The service is quite prompt however the voucher is a bit delayed.
