It took 3 months of back and forth communications and they kept telling me its coming in the mail be patient. Now the other day they send me an email saying we will give you a groupon voucher for how much you paid for the item. I sent them an email requesting my money back and what a surprise NO ANSWER... I have been polite and patient so far. Since then I have called and finally received my money back it took a bit of convincing

With the last voucher I purchased from this company, I did not get the treatment I thought I was paying for.
I have since spent the past 7 weeks (so far) trying to get someone from Groupon to contact me in regards to getting a refund but all I get each time is an automated response saying someone will contact me in 72 hours.
Some of the deals they advertise are not that much cheaper than what the companies are already offering, so do your due diligence before purchasing. (I'd even go so far as to ask the Retailer what deal they would give you if you purchased direct.)
Also, ensure that whatever voucher you are getting, that you are happy to potentially say goodbye to the money if you are not happy with the outcome, as Groupon have no customer service beyond taking your money.
I will not be purchasing any more vouchers from this company.
UPDATE - I persisted with trying to contact Groupon but gave up after about 3 months. No-one ever contacted me, and I never received anything more than the automated email response from them.

Not only with this company but lots of ebay sellers and especially hotels who when you ring them direct, give you much larger discounts than any web site

Whoa Thanks for sharing your experience. I'd hate to receive nothing but 'automated responses' That's the worst of all. I've yet to have bad experience with groupon though.

Groupon is just absolutely excellent. I have saved a couple dollars on so many occasions, I must be saving hundreds in total. Its s easy to use, and so worth while.

I've booked a few restaurants via Groupon and all of my experiences so far have been amazing! I've saved over half price for all the restaurants and the food ranged from hotel buffets to authentic Japanese cuisine. The service is quite prompt however the voucher is a bit delayed.
