A new automated garage door to replace my two existing 20 year old manual garage doors was installed. My experience with Mark from Gryphon was fantastic from start to finish. Mark responded to my email enquiry quickly and was polite and helpful when he came to our home. The garage door was installed very quickly (in time for Christmas), the door is quite and looks fantastic. The price was most affordable. A stress free and no pressure approach from Mark, together with a timely processed sealed the deal. Thanks Mark, to all involved at Gryphon (and the Installer as well). I also wish we had gone elsewhere. What - a - nightmare.
Garage door was meant to be installed within 3 weeks, to cut a long story short, 4.5 months later it was finally up after many many many phone calls from me prompting them to continue with it. However one final piece NEVER got installed - the vertical side cover. It was just too much hassle for us to bother with continuing to try and chase this up.
The old man who came out with his grandchild in the car was chatty, charming and positive about quoting us for the install, and we committed to going with Gryphon after he came out to us. From then on it was no returned calls, installers forgetting parts or parts not having been packed as thought and needing to come back week after week for whatever reason. We needed this put up before selling our house, and actually had to put the sale of our house off, until we could get the garage door installed.
Don't know how Billy Brownless can put his name to this brand, don't know how they are still advertising on radio and don't know how they are still in business there in Bayswater. I just know I would hate to be the receptionist taking their calls.
Poor service, false advertising. They are cheaper than the rest for a reason. Avoid at all costs!

I am surprised they are still in business. They underquoted. Never replied to calls. Took longer to install than quoted. The door had many issues. They were always slow to respond. Very unprofessional.

We didn't even get as far as some others, thank fully. I rang to ask for advice on installing a garage door on a new home. A sales person was quick to be appointed and a time was made for a quote. (No friendly advice offered first). The sales person did not turn up, for which my husband had left work early. I contacted the office to be told that they would ring around and find out who was supposed to turn up, and that they would call me back. I am still waiting 3 days later....

They took my elderly grandparent for a ride! They wouldn't provide a written quote, they hassled them with 3-4 phone calls a day until they got the sale. The never installed it properly and took 2 months to even install it. Then refused to take phone calls to fix the door! Then threatened them to take the door away! My grandparents are now having to take them to VCAT to try and get their money back so they can get a new door that works.

I decided to use Gryphon on the basis that they manufactured as well as installed their own doors, even although the B&D product was just as good, if slightly more expensive. I paid the 50% deposit on 13/08 on the promise by sales guy that the door would be in by 16/09. They missed that date and eventually turned up on 1/10. Everything was wrong - the design of door & engine, the engine was not weather-proof, as ordered, the door was too large for the gap! Then followed a multiple week period whereby I would ring them once per week and they would promise to call back and never did. They were continually missing engine shipments and so my door could not be installed. I even escalated to the state manager who had no influence of delivery whatsoever, and DID NOT OFFER A DISCOUNT for the unbelievable bad service they were offering.The door finally turned up on 10/11. The installers were over an hour late because they discovered en route that Gryphon had not supplied them with the correct bolts! The 90 minute install job took 2.5 hours. It was a horrendous experience and in summary, DO NOT DEAL WITH GRYPHON, despite their price difference.

I Wish I had never walked into the showroom. The roller door was supposed to be installed within 3 weeks it took 4 months of lost paperwork and excuses, then it would not open or close properly. The amount of times I had to phone them was ridiculous.
