Well you know when you find a great hairdresser..
well the rest is history.
At Hair by Navine the girls are so down to earth..
always the same staff its a comfortable familiarity where the girls catch up" like a Neighbours episode which is quite amusing. There has also been an array of clientelle that pop in with BIG personalities.. for a good laugh..and great prices its perfect. I am also going to add its not just for the entertainment value... they always do a fab job on a fussy woman (me) who likes her hair foils that perfect blonde. Great job guys see you in 5 weeks!!!!

I went to get a Keratin Treatment and Style Cut that I bought for $99 with a voucher I bought online. I paid another $50 to get the "second strength" of treatment that apparently has more keratin in it than the "first strength". I thought about it for a little while, because I knew the hair dresser was trying to make more money, but I thought I'd give it a try anyway, and see what the result would be.

The process was mostly pleasant, although I'm scared to go there again because the girl who dried my hair with the hair dryer kept holding it quite close to my head for too long, making it burn me a few times. Also, she was a bit rough with my hair when she was using the straightening iron. The process was more painful than I had anticipated, and unnecessarily so. Another downside is having to wait 3 days before washing the hair, but with many keratin treatments, this is standard.

However, the result so far has been good. I have long, thick and coarse hair with a bit of natural wave. Now my hair is less coarse, a little more straight and much easier to handle. I was convinced to buy the shampoo and conditioner (which altogether cost about $72), but this should last at least 3 months for me. I think the product that they use is great, and safe, but I don't think I'll be going there again for anything that requires heat.

Approximate cost: $220

You can actually buy the aftercare products online, which could save you money if you purchase a few at a time.

Went to Hair by Nivine using a $100 spreets voucher for the Natura Keratin brazilian hair straightening treatment (normally $430). The hairdresser was very informative and all staff were friendly. The experience was very pleasant and the product smelt very natural. They didnt rush the process.

I have long hair which is normally quite straight, but just a bit 'fluffy'. I followed the instructions about not washing your hair for three days, and also bought and used the recommended shampoo and conditioner.

I have given the quality a lower score because the effects did not last long, maybe just over a month. Their website suggests that it should last 3-5 months.

Would not recommend full price, but definitely worth trying if you come across a voucher.

Yes, definitely should use a voucher. It's not worth full price.

It seems like Hair by Nivine is best for their cut and colour service.

I went in for a $70 hair cut & blow dry and as soon as i walked in they started with the pressure sell tactics the supposed hairdresser i got stuck with had zero interest in actually doing what i was paying her for - that is cutting my hair, she barely cut anything off despite my asking for several centimetres off she wouldnt listen to a thing i said, though she wouldnt shut up when being critical about my hair and the products i use (all the while offering me expensive "miracle cures")

I agree that they do try to sell you as many products as possible.

I have been going there for years and I am not one to disagree... however they have been fantastic for the past 3 years...
