I definitely do not recommend this hair salon anymore as I actually went there tonight wanting my roots done & I was actually turned away because the lady actually said that they were closing at 8pm even though it says on their website that they are open until 9pm on a Friday night ok. Anyhow I was there at 630pm & was told to come back tomorrow ok. So unfortunately I will be taking my business elsewhere from now on so they have now lost a very unhappy customer.

I am very unhappy with the lady hairdresser who did foils on my hair, and she left them on too long, she didn't even check them whilst processing, 5 inches of fried and damaged hair Buyer beware.

People DO NOT GET MICROBLADING done here!!!
I had my eyebrows done, and not only was the girl incapable of lining up the brows, she also scarred me.
They advertise their services for $300 including touch up after a month. However after 6 weeks I was told that I came too late and wanted to charge me the touch up after 6 months price. She was also shocked by her own work and couldn’t believe that she had done it!
I later found out from word of mouth that the artist had not had enough training or experience.

Went today first day of opening after lockdown, they were flat out the waiting time was 3 hrs + for color and trim. Definitely not their fault as they do not take bookings I felt for people who just wanted a cut a young boy had been waiting 2 hrs for a cut felt sorry for staff also....

I won't go to this salon again as they discriminate against females, seniors discounts for males, but no seniors discounts for females. I have always got a seniors discount when I have visited here in the past. Haircut was good, as was the service, but I can't tolerate gender discrimination, as a mother of two daughters and a son, I expect them all to be treated in the same manner.

I stumbled across Hair World when I desperately needed a cut returning from a holiday. It was the only day I could get it done . It was my regular hairdresser's day off. Fedwa did the cut. She was very welcoming and efficient. Although slightly shorter than I am used to ,my daughters thought it looked great( I usually do not get compliments after a cut) and was exceptionally easy to maintain. I did go back last week but it was Fedwa's day off. Thinking I would stay, I had a long wait. It also seemed that a lady who came in after me was attended to before me and the lady who should have been ahead of me . So I decided to return when Fedwa was there and rang beforehand to see how busy they were. I had my second haircut there today with Fedwa and I am again very happy with the result. She has. Just replaced my once regular hairdresser! Rating is not 5 star only due to last week's service issue, totally unrelated to Fedwa.

I have been going to hair world for approx 8 years. Only once my hair was dyed to dark , and without any hesitation was made good by Michelle who now is part owner of the salon. The staff are always friendly. wAiting can be a bit of a problem as they are so busy and no bookings needed. The cost is not over the top like lots of other salons, a busy salon is a sign of happy customers. Congratulations Michelle..

I'm so glad I found this salon here on WOMO. I have just been to Hair World at Southland for the first time and I will now be a regular client. The salon is clean, bright and comfortable; the staff are all very friendly and the price is less than I was quoted anywhere else, by far.
I have thick longish hair; I had my colour stripped, new colour with foils, cut to a complete style change and blow wave - all for under $200. I was attended to by Monique who did a fantastic job and was helpful with her recommendations.
They don't take appointments so you may need to wait for what you want, and they don't make coffees or do neck rubs. If those things are important to you, then you should continue to pay for it in the pricing elsewhere; I am happy to bring my own coffee (there's a stand right out the front door of the salon!) and pay only for what I get - a great cut and colour!

Approximate cost: $160-$200

It's usually busy and it's not the fanciest salon in Southland, but they always do an amazing job. I have very long/wavy/ thick hair, and Savana always cuts/colours & blow waves it as good/better than any other salon I've been to! They spend time on all clients and i find it refreshing that they don't charge crazy prices - especially when you're sitting there with dye in your hair waiting for it to develop - I hate feeling like I've been charged a premium price just for sitting there! Seriously I always go there
