I always go to Hairworld. It's always busy, and sometimes you have to wait or come back later, but there is always the same staff who remember your name and know what you like!
the prices are excellent value for money, and I always leave happy. I have very long hair and it's hard/expensive/timeconsuming to get a cut/colour at other salons, but at Hairworld they always see me and do a 1st class job. Highly recommend it

I have tried lots of the salons at southland but none compare to this one. The service is great and the prices are so cheap a quarter of most salons Tyy them nothing to lose

I was looking for a hairdresser in my area. Found Hairworld on this website and decided to give them a go. I noticed that it was pretty busy (Wednesday) lots of pensioners getting their haircut. I was attended to promptly - most of the hairdressers were friendly, but one of the hairdressers kept brushing my hair as if she wanted to take every single hair off my head OUCH! She did stop brushing once I told her to stop, she apologised and said that is how she usually brushes clients hair!
By the way great value for money ($60 for cut/colour/foils/shampoo) especially for students and pensioners.

Approximate cost: $50+

I used to go there for six months now. Took several people there too. As previous reviewer said, good value. Susanne is the only qualified hairdresser there. She's been doing my cut and tips. She is the only worker who is busy. Unfortunately it took it's toll, it is too much for her, now rushed, working on two or more clients. Six weeks ago I was there, she was not there, went with one of the guys. Disaster. Unfortunately, he only told me middle of my cut, that he has never been a hairdresser, he used to be business owner, (whatever of) in HOng Kong. He did not cut my hair conventionally. Made little twists, cut end with razor. Front he didn't even touch. $10 for this, if it was free, I'd never go back again. I looked like somebody had a catfight with me. Customer service doesn't exist. Either you have five jump on you or nobody. Once you refuse one, they'll never look at you again. Used to be happy with Susanne, now found a great place in Springvale. Same price, with good service and cut.

Approximate cost: $43

Finding a good hairdresser is always difficult. After moving to Australia in 07, the hunt was on. About 2 months ago I decided to go to Hairworld for foils, all over colour and cut and boy was I glad I did! At first it was confusing because it was very busy (it always is on weekends) and the receptionist just said to go and sit down. No one even acknowledged me for the first 15 minutes (I was told it would be a while). Finally, Susanne (sp?) came to find out what I wanted done. She was thorough, professional, and did a great job. Best of all, it was half the cost of any other place I got my hair done in Melbourne but just as good, if not better! Only the service could be better.

Approximate cost: $69 for a cut, colour and foils
