It is advertised as a luxury 'thing' in travel magazines and websites... the price certainly indicated that it was 'luxury' as the entry to just the bathhouse cost $26 during the week and $39 during weekends per person ($83 per person on the weekend to include the Sanctuary). However, I found that the bathhouse itself felt more like a heated public pool. It is suppose to be mineral springs, but the smell of chlorine made it feel less of a natural spring and more of a swimming pool. The pools were also small, and if you had paid the extra dollars to go into the sanctuary, it's even smaller! So it actually wasn't that relaxing at all.
Perhaps a visit really early in the morning is better? I really don't know.
Having said that, we had a massage after our visit to the bathhouse and that was heavenly. The day spa section is completely different to the bathhouse, where we got to relax in a lounge area before the massage, and served with herbal tea after the massage. The service there was fantastic too.
Recommend to visit during off peak hours, otherwise, head straight to a treatment at the Day Spa area for a more pleasant visit.

the spa was very comfortable and the staffs were polite. However, the price is a bit too high for a 2 hour bath. ($75 just bathing)
Overall, a very pleasant experience but I wouldn't go again unless there are some promotions.

The relaxation pool wasn't very relaxing as it was crowded and had kids laughing and splashing about, however the body scrub and mineral bath were super relaxing . . . I think that I could have easily fallen asleep. I finished off my pampering with a Thalgo facial. The therapist had really professional techniques and the products made my face and decolletage so soft!

The private bath is simply to die for! Finish it off with lunch or morning tea at the Pavillion.

A brilliant day spa! The famed Hepburn Springs water in their pool and spa was clear and cleansing. We took part in a package that included a bath, massage, facial and floatation tank session. Prices were very reasonable as Dayslesford can be quite pricey. They also cater for pregnant ladies.

Definitely busy and doesn't have many pools. The place itself is nice, the refurbishment is good, but when there are 20 other people in the pool with you, including children, it's not all that relaxing. If you could afford it a better option would be a private pool and treatments rather than the Sanctuary or Bathhouse. We got the afternoon tea package and the scones were dry and horrible.

The bathhouse is fantastic. You can either just go to the pool or into the spa area. You can spend all day in there. We have a massage after spending a few hours in the spa area, then we go back to the motel to sleep for a few hours. The Hepburn area is a lovely quaint village type. The people are friendly.

I had a 1h facial followed by a session in the Sanctuary. Facial was good and the lounge area which used to be a spa in the original spa is really cool. Good products, good choice.
The sanctuary was beautiful and we went from the float pool to the sauna to the long spa couches in the pool and back again. Very relaxing and a beautiful setting. We could have spent all day just in the pools. Nice and quiet and it feels like you're somewhere else, completely, not just outside Melbourne. Probably Germany or Austria. Even on a hot day it looks cold outside and lovely and warm inside. A really different experience: taking the waters, not just a normal day spa.
