Ripped off then multiple emails ignored

Purchased sanctuary package with Devonshire tea and left feeling ripped off due to being charged $20 each for the Devonshire tea that we trustingly booked in advance when it was $10 on the day per their reception sign and cheaper in cafe also. Numerous emails ignored asking for refund. Should not be charged extra for booking a “package” in advance. Terrible service to ignore emails - but based on other reviews online l am not surprised now. Mornington peninsula hot springs so much better than these dated and small springs - only positive not many there so wasn’t crowded (but prob as they are so old)

Approximate cost: $240

Worst customer service ever . We asked for reschedule the booking cause we were unwell and they simply refuse to do that. They expect people to visit their site even if you are not well. We emailed multiple times but no response back from their team . DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY

Approximate cost: $200

I cannot recommend this business due to the experience we have just had there. Unable to relax in the private baths due to constant leaking water. Not running.. just dripping. We advised we had never been there before but we’re not explained anything about the experience and treated by our assistant like we knew what we were supposed to be doing. The assistant who helped us did not comply with COVID regulations and removed her mask and stood half a meter away while talking to us. Both my partner and I work with immune compromised people and hoped maybe they would ask before going against such strict guidelines. We could not last more than five minutes in the room with the constant dripping and when bought to the attention of our attendant we were not offered a room without this dripping although on our inspection this was not common in all the rooms.. a very disappointing experience overall for their private bathing experience….

When one travels to Daylesford and Hepburn Springs you’d expect to have a calm, refined and memorable occasion. Unfortunately for my wife and I, our accommodation was memorable in the wrong way. We visited Hepburn Spa Retreat to celebrate our wedding anniversary at the rate of $300 per night, expectations were high.

Upon entering the check-in we were greeted by an employee that appeared distracted and served the spa queries of a ‘local’ who arrived after us. She was flustered and walked away, forgetting we wanted to book a time for the bathhouse. Not the most warming of welcomes.

After unloading the car and settling into the room we attempted to open up the sliding doors to relax on the balcony, prior to going out to a dinner reservation. They were jammed shut. Called reception and was informed someone will visit to inspect. After 15minutes a staff member visited and attempted for some time to fix the door. He managed to eventually open it but wasn’t able to close it. Concerned about security we asked to be moved. Staff member walked back to the Spa reception (which is quite a distance away from accommodation) to see what they could do.

We sat in the room waiting for quite some time for a decision from the staff. Then we saw the same staff member walking from reception up the driveway. We were shown into a different room and moved our luggage once again.

Upon entering we were shown that the balcony door (with some force) opens and closes. Needless to say we decided that we wouldn’t use the balcony. When the staff member left it was clear that there wasn’t care in the preparation of our arrival. To spare the details, I will now briefly list:

- Coaster marks along the surface of the spa
- Silicone inside and around spa was missing/damaged and mouldy
- Interior and exterior windows were dirty
- Pubic hair on the bed sheet
- Main light in the centre of room and bedside was flickering and needed replacement
- When ‘fire’ heater was turned on it emitted an unbearable dusty scent
- A near empty box of tissues
- Bathroom bin foot pedal didn’t work
- Heated towel rack wasn’t functioning
- The shower condensation revealed a large picture of a pig drawn by a previous visitor on the shower screen (which made us feel extremely uncomfortable to know that this wasn’t cleaned- especially in covid times)
- Several blind rods were broken
- The black curtains showed up many white stains on them

Did we feel special during our “retreat”? No. Even without the addition sounds of neighbouring crows, our time in the venue felt very lack lustre. We feel that this venue was unprepared for visitors, preoccupied with marketing and wasn’t focused on giving the best service or experience to customers in a time where you’d expect much more from a place out of lockdown.

Will not return and advise the reader to consider alternate accommodation.

My daughter and I treated ourselves to a spa and Devonshire tea package here during our "Girls' Weekend" away. It was very enjoyable and relaxing, staff were very pleasant and helpful and it was a great experience. I did feel it was a little too hot in some of the rooms and pools but other people seemed quite happy. Some people were a bit selfish and stayed in the spas too long when other people were waiting to get in. The Devonshire tea was very tasty. We would be happy to come here again next time I visit Melbourne.

Approximate cost: $65

We went and had a 30 minute private spa. The $125 seemed expensive given it was a small room and bath to share. The buildings and surrounds are very nice but don't think I would bother with a private spa again. Not worth the cost.

Hepburn bathhouse and spa is set in a very beautiful environment.Very relaxing day out. Prices are expensive but well worth it. You have a choice of two different bathing experiences (the bathhouse or the sanctuary) and if you want something extra try a massage!

This is a place where my partner and I like to sneak off for some relaxation time that I don't think you can find any were else in the world. Although the staff are very helpful and polite and the pricing is extremely fair you don't even factor that in with the pleasure you experience in their lovely baths

I went up to Daylesford with a friend and my brother..

We decided to go to springs spa.. when we arrived there, the staff told us we only have 1 hour to enjoy the pool, because they will close the pool for renovation. But, we already there so might as well just go for it.

it was a spot on decision and it was worth it! we enjoyed it very much..very relax too. The staff was very friendly and polite.
