they have 1/2 price mussel every Wed. it is a HUGE POT serving with chips as well. that is good value. the dessert is massive as well. the only let down is the steak is too rare when we all order medium rare.. it is always packed so booked early !

Approximate cost: $30

Love the beer and the food offers are outstanding if you go on a night where your favorite dishes come up. Check the offers out on their website before you go, don't bother with a reservation - it doesn't seem to make a difference and expect to make a night of it. Belgian bier is strong stuff!

I found this place at WOMOW and the reviews suggested it was worth giving it a shot. The setting is a typical pub, it is quite large but will get crowded on a Friday after 5. The have dozens of beers from around Europe. They offer this passport booklet where if you buy each beer in the menu you can get your nameplate printed, we were a group of 10 and managed all right (the total bill easily exceeded $500). There are beers for all tastes from very bitter, extra-dark to fruity smooth lagers. The prices range from 8 to 20 dollars for most beers.

Approximate cost: $12

I love Belgian bier so this place is dangerous for me. They have a huge range of Belgian bier, most of which are very rare to find at other pubs and bars around Sydney. Be prepared to spend a small fortune though. Best is Wednesday night when they have half price mussels — 1kg pot of mussels for around the $10 mark. It's always rammed though so book ahead! That said I have always found the service to be pretty good considering how busy it is.

Approximate cost: $10-20

This place is very popular, but the service often lets it down. The staff know that people will continue to come along for cheap drinks and special meal offers and often just ignore requests and favour friends & locals instead of new customers. We had to queue for 1.5 hours even though we had a reservation, in the end the food didn't make up for the disappointing experience in service!

The food and atmosphere here is great and I love coming here to eat. The service is also very impressive and overall, it's a wonderful place to eat.

one of my favourite restaurants for a wednesday night. you want to know why, its because of their half price 1kg mussels. very beautiful place and the atmostphere is excellent. so much selection of alcohol. service is awesome, i don't even have to put my hand up for service.

Approximate cost: $13

The Belgian Bier Cafe is beer tasting at its finest, accompanied with great food. I can never go past the 1kg pot of mussels (Poulette...with garlic butter, celery and bacon) with Belgian chips and aioli, which is perfect with a great beer such as Tripel Karmeliet or Gulden Draak. The ambience is great, but would be better with more traditional music. Keep an eye out for the great specials, especially half price mussel day on Wednesdays.

Approximate cost: $20-35

This is great place to be. The range of beers was crazy. The restaurant has the ambient of old European castle with large space and high ceiling but still gives the cozy feel.

Approximate cost: $20
