We were looking for a place for lunch and found the Post Office Café. You wouldn't have known from its quiet and simple exterior that there was a busy café inside complete with a waterfall. The décor and atmosphere are warm and welcoming. The service was friendly and efficient in particular Fab. The food was fresh, simple and tasty and if you have any room left we can recommend the cakes in particular the Cookies and Cream and the Cheesecake with Raspberry topping – apparently they are made locally. This was our first visit to the Post Office Café and I am sure it won't be our last.

Approximate cost: $60.00 for two

A lovely cafe with great outdoor dining, huge fire place and pond where the kids threw money in to make a wish. I had a chicken parmi but unfortunately wasnt overly impressed. It was a big meal but the flavours wernt there. Great service though and the facilities are very clean with baby changing station too. I would go back to try something else on the menu as the cafe was lovely

We love this place. The atmosphere is great, it's quite a large place with indoor and outdoor seating and lots of little nooks to seat yourself in - especially if you want a little privacy. Always clean toilets, a lovely water feature to look out. Food is tasty, we had the big breakfast on Saturday and it was delicious and coffee was nice and strong. We just love the little chocolate chip cookies you get with the coffees it's just what you need.

This place has a really nice atmosphere and just does very thing a cafe should. They have a great loyalty card and their are really good value. I don't even live in the area but as soon as I think about going out for a coffee and cake with the kids or a friend this is where I am heading.

I love the feel of this place! It's got a nice indoor atmosphere and the outdoor area is awesome. Nice waterfall feature and a great little play area for kids. Fairly standard pricing but great food! Bowl of chips $4.50. Pot of tea, a latte and two cute baby chinos all with a mini cookie $10.90. Loyalty card too!

Approximate cost: $15

We have been going to this place for years. The coffee is lovely and the staff are usually really nice and accomodating. One reason I like this place is because they have a little play area with some toys out the back for the kids. They have a change table and toilets which is great (don't take it for granted some cafes don't have toilets!!). Their cakes could be improved....but it's nice that you get a little DELICIOUS choc chip biccy with your dine in coffee. The decor is lovely, lots of paintings on the wall for sale and lovely fire places and comfy chairs. A cool big waterfall out the back! The kids love it! And it's adjoined to a working post office which is handy! Menu meals, lunch etc and pricy....which is a shame. If they had lunch deals we would eat here more often!

Approximate cost: $4

When I have been there the variety of food has been great and much of it has been home-made.
The area out the back is a real find, decorated in rustic style with a lovely, surprisingly large, waterfall.
You can also sit out the front and watch the world go by.
Inside they have cosy gas log fires for winter dining.
The front is accessed by steps but for those with mobility issues you can go in on flat ground via the back door - just park beside the Post Office part of the building.
General parking is across the road but there is a pedestrian crossing right there.
Licensed.

This is a decent cafe if you're in Hurstbridge. Staff are friendly, service is sometimes slow and the menu is a bit boring. Price is a little high, but they do great breakfasts.

Approximate cost: $25

A quaint place for the perfect afternoon tea. Small, rural, and very sweet. The food is good, but the garden is gorgeous. Come here to escape the hustle and bustle for a little while.

This is a nice place to eat one in a while if you have friends or people visiting from out of town, but it may be a little rich for every week dining.

Approximate cost: $50 for two people
