The food here is to die for. MEAT PLATTER! YUM. It was very busy but the waiters catered nicely to the crowds as did the chefs because the service was second to none and the food, refreshingly hot and cooked to perfection in a timely matter.

Good weekend opening hours but very busy. I suggest booking. Meat plank is a must. Tender and succulent and worth the price. Service is acceptable and decor is refreshing.

Yum yum yum!! Have been anticipating this meal since we arrived in Sydney. We finally got a table after missing out on a booking three nights in a row. We came for Sunday lunch and the huge space was near full. We ordered the prawn linguine and mussel and squid spaghetti Nero, with a side of their famous polenta chips. The linguine was perfectly salted and came out so hot that it must have just left the pan. The seafood pasta came with squid ink spaghetti and a generous serving of octopus and mussels. The service was great, a very chatty and helpful waiter. Would recommend getting the main size of the pasta (entrees looked small) and also the Bellinis are top notch! Make sure you book!!

I went as part of a big group (8 people) and the atmosphere was very nice, there was a lot of food options but the pasta my group had were mostly undercooked or overcooked which defeats the purpose of going to Jamie's Italian.
Still, price is worth the food, atmosphere and experience.

Surprisingly, this was one of the few places to eat we could find open at 9.30 on a Sunday night! Hadn't booked ahead but they found us a table. Very friendly, helpful staff who didn't seem fazed by our vegetarian and vegan dietary requirements. The only down-side to coming in late was that several menu items had run out. Our loss, I guess but what we had was delicious and well-cooked. Would have no hesitation in returning.

We went to Jamie's for our New Year's Eve dinner, naturally we booked ahead and we weren't surprised to see that it was totally full. We received our drinks very quickly (cocktails from the separate bar) and our entree came within just a few minutes. The meat plank to share was great and the waitress gave us a run down of all the meats and cheeses. Mains were tasty, though they didn't have much in the way of vegetables. The polenta chips were the best I've ever had. Definitely want to revisit and try their dessert menu. The restaurant itself has a great vibe and has a small section of Jamie's merchandise such as cookbooks, aprons etc.

My husband and I came to Jamie's Italian last week for our anniversary and we were not disappointed. We shared a few different antipasto dishes, and absolutely loved them. We both ordered pasta dishes for our main, which was average. We were going to share some different desserts, but we were far too full. Our waitress was brilliant, we were quite happy with the customer service we received. We will be back to try out different items on the menu and the famous desserts menu.

Came here recently for a very late lunch (at around 3pm), which is probably why we received amazing service. Our pastas arrived in a very timely fashion, and were delicious. The waitress who looked after us was very attentive, happy, and helpful, which was a real delight. I've been here during busier times, where the wait's a fair while longer, but the quality of the food is just as good.

Whilst the service was brilliant from the waitress, and the food was delicious, it did take about an hour to get our main meal. We went for lunch and it was very busy, when your on a time frame you can't afford to be waiting that long. All in all though I enjoyed my experience and would go back

Jamie's Italian is a production by Celebrity Chef Jamie Oliver. It's a hard place to get a seat in Sydney but serves up some great food from a very diverse menu. From amazing pastas to seafood and burgers they have something for everyone. I also noted the prices were very reasonable on my visit. The Jamie's Italian Burger consists of Wagga Wagga beef, fontina cheese, pancetta, soft lettuce, tomato salsa, dill pickles, chilli, and fried onions. A soft bun that supports the burger well complements a tender piece of beef. The seeds on the bun and other seasoning give the burger a nice herbal flavor making the burger worthy of its Italian name. The combination of the cheese and onions with the spices make each bite an exploration for your taste buds and puts this burger among some of the best I've eaten.

Very nice italian style restaurant by Jamie! The pasta is quite homemade style, I like it! This is a great place for atmosphere, service and perfectly simple Italian fare. my friend ordered the squid/octopus ink pasta, and she absolutely love it. Will return again to try other dishes!

Did you have to wait very long for a seat? I heard they don't do reservations

amyamy 12 Sep 2013

we went there early for lunch, so it is not too crowd. Weekends is difficult to book(try to book 2 month before), weekday booking is easier, either online or call.

This is an amazing restaurant. I have been here 3 times so far. The food is delicious and fresh and has Jamie Oliver written all over it. The restaurant décor is very good - you would think you were somewhere in Europe. The service is very good and fast. You have to queue for a table as they do not take bookings for groups under 6. For city dining and the quality of the service and food, the price is very reasonable.

We came and The waitress told me that we had to wait for half hour. It was full of queue outside. When we got into our table upstair, i was surprised that the restaurant was pretty much empty, only the 1st floor was packed.
The place is really dark that make you extremely hard to look at the menu. I ordered the burger and it was big and tasty.
chopping board and sardine tin was used as serving plate.

I just loved everything of this place. The whole place has this big warehouse, rustic/industrial vibe. We were seated in the ground floor and we could see the frantic open kitchen where chefs were busy preparing food. There was an upper floor above us as well. The tables upstairs and down were all metal with graffiti walls, wire mesh and copper pendant lights.
The service was awesome as when we were seated, we were given menus, water glass and a jug of water. I was delighted to find the prices very reasonable. We ordered Sweet Mini Chilli peppers, stuffed with whipped ricotta, mint & lemon and Crispy Squid, fried squid served with really garlicky mayo & lemon. The size of the squid was not that big but for the price and as an entrée, they were fine. The most important part is that they were delicious.
As we finished the entrée and the table was cleared and while we were waiting for our main we got homemade Rosemary Focaccia Artisan Sourdough, Ciabatta & Tortano from their bakery Crispy Carta Di Musica. It was on the house and the timing was perfect. They were nice with olive oil and herbs on them.
For the main I ordered Osso Bucco Milanese which is an Aussie lamb cooked overnight with tomatoes, saffron, wine & herbs, served on oozy polenta Bianca and my husband had Tuscan Wild Boar Sausages which is juicy red wine & fennel sausages served with a warm, minty lentil salad & salsa rossa piccante.
After the main, we ordered their famous Tiramisu which is a coffee-flavoured trifle with orange mascarpone & chocolate. As a non-coffee and alcohol drinker, I found that it had more coffee and alcohol than most tiramisu I have had.
Overall very very happy with the place and everything there.

Went all out here ordering nibbles, main and a dessert, with an hour wait for a table we spent a good two hours eating. Was so enjoyable here though the time flew. A a few things were a bit salty but totally delicious. Loved the caramel ice cream and the nachos were pretty cool, impressive prices as well. Can't wait to go back and try the burger, looked massively awesome.

Overall a great place to dine at. The dishes are a bit hit and miss. Opted for a few smaller dishes rather than having one large dinner. The truffle risotto was a bit bland for my taste. Dessert was great. Drinks were also really nice - lemonade was excellent. Overall satisfied.

With much anticipation we went to Jamie's last night.
As we arrived at 5pm to beat the rush (a show was on at the nearby theatre) and noticed a few people milling at the bar.. the restaurant was full.

Luckily we were dining with an associate of the restaurant so had a table (known as the unofficial chefs table) which has an angled view of the very fast paced kitchen.
The booth was extremely cramped (table is too big for the space) with 4 adults & 1 child.

We were greeted warmly by a lovely waiter, given menu's & wine ordered. Opted for a lightish Italian red with smooth spices & hearty finish - very good indeed.

For nibbles we went for the polenta chips with rosemary & parmesan (very tasty & crunchy), a insalata caprese (tiny, only 2 small buffalo mozzarella balls & ordinary tasting cherry tomatoes) together with little chunks of parmesan drizzled with balsamic vinegar (beautiful cheese but an incredibly small serve).

For mains we chose fish stew, gnocchi with pesto & the pork belly with seared fennel & citrus sauce special. I tried my sons gnocchi & it was bland & tasteless (no pine nuts, no parmesan, no seasoning)... the actual gnocchi seemed be of supermarket quality! The fish stew looked excellent & apparently tasted very good. My pork belly was horrid. It had a burnt taste & some of the crackling was indeed burnt, it was very, very fatty & what meat there was had a dry stringy texture. The fennel should have been crispy instead it was cooked to death, dripping in oil and just revolting. I also ordered a side of apple & gorgonzola salad - plenty of rocket, a few honey walnuts, a few tiny droppings of cheese & 2 thing slices of apple. It tasted good but had there been more apple it would have been so much better.

For desert we opted for the pannacotta, a bombe type thing & chocolate brownie. The pannacotta was excellent, silken & wobbly. The brownie was a dismal failure - overcooked, dry, not oozy, weakly chocolate flavoured (made from milk chocolate cocoa I suspect) and the sauce - OMG, I can do better with my eyes closed... drinking chocolate powder, milk & very little cream - yuck, no other way to say it. The bombe... supposed to be a beautiful shell of panettone with ricotta, dried fruit & peel with ice-cream & the same gastly chocolate sauce. It was blah - no panettone & hardly a piece of fruit/peel insight.

To top it off - the stupid noises the chefs make constantly inbetween yelling out the orders is just horrid. I understand a kitchen during service is noisy but this was like being in a circus. I couldn't wait to get out of there.

I feel so extremely disappointed by last nights experience & I will never, ever return.

Went with 3 other people, luckily we didn't have to wait too long. Both the entrees and mains were all delicious and very fresh tasting... it was very Jamie Oliver type of cooking. The only downside was the air con was a bit too cold but overall would love to go there again for yummy Italian food!

Extensive seasonal menu, very rustic way of displaying the dishes.

Visited the much hyped Jamie's Italian and watched the pasta being made, sat on the uncomfortable chair and was served a very standard pasta. It had a lovely lemony sauce but the pasta was a bit tough. Has potential and is passable but nothing to rave about.
