Me and my wife are both young doctors and tried to go for Black Friday deals after our shift. We have never been dealt such disrespect and vehemence than when dealing with job hi fi employee and representative Alan. Alan made a point of looking us down repeatedly and going to serve other people, whilst we were talking to him. I presume it may be because they looked well off and wearing designer clothes and are older whilst me and my wife are in our mid twenties, and didn’t have time to look fancy after work. I presumed in Australia we are all treated equally especially when you are already in conversation with the person. He didn’t do this once but three times and his disgust when dealing with us was palpable. We would have got another customer service member but Alan was in our section and was repeatedly not busy, compared to the other staff members even though he kept trying to avoid us.

Thing is me and my wife were willing to spend more than 10,000 because we both needed MacBook pros + go pros + speakers and a new tv. I guess the message is if you’re shopping at jb hi fi and are coming straight from work, make sure you pull out all the cash you’re going to potentially spend and wave it in front of the respective jb hi fi employees face so they can actually treat you and your partner like human beings.

In conclusion Alan’s inability to not judge and do his job as a sales man and representative of jb hi fi ensured that we will never shop here again, as we know the attitude and the pervasive culture. Those who look wealthier and older get served first. The rest well we are just scum. Good to know Alan, good to know jb hi fi.

It was extremely nice of the Southland Store to send me a HP OfficeJet Value Pack for free on Friday afternoon since my HP OfficeJet 6950 didn't come with any ink cartridges.

I usually shop in this store for Cd's and DVD's The staff are always helpful as I sometimes have trouble locating the product I am after. Guess what happens? If they can't find it they order it in for me if it's possible. This is great as sometimes I need something specific for a gift and they are able to get it for me. A big thank you to the staff as my husband and I really do appreciate your help.

They have a huge range of music, games and other electronics. Really well priced and cheaper than most shops. The staff are great help too. I have asked them for help several times with game/computer problems and they have always been happy to help. Great value for gamers.

I bought an iPod nano from them for Christmas but was having some difficulties with it a month later - it had been crashing every time I watched a video on it and the only way I could get it working again was to wait for the batteries to die out. So I went to JB and they explained to me what most likely happened was a common thing with the iPod and how to avoid it - and he managed to fix my iPod without having the battery die out! Great explanation and great service.

Terrific explanations about plasma screens. We looked at Sony screen and he was able to do a really good price and knew all about the various models. The store has a huge range of movies and the Sony mini dv tape is remarkably affordable.

Approximate cost: $med to low

I went there to buy an mp3 player which they had on special, took a bit to get served as they always seem to be somewhat busy. I did get the mp3 player which works as expected. Went there another 2 times for car speakers, the first time they had them in stock and I bought a pair which work great, the second time I searched only to have to ask someone where they were and was told that all the car audio stuff had been shifted to their Brighton branch. It would have been good to read a notice at the front of the store saying that the car audio gear had been moved to Brighton as it would have saved me 5-10 minutes of searching in store and then another 5 searching for an attendant.

After our camera broke, I was on the lookout for a new one. After doing research on the net, I narrowed my selection to four. When I got to JB, I waited ages to get attended to although I was clearly looking. Next the guy tried to argue why my choices and sources were not the best way to choose cameras. So much for making the customer feel wanted. I spent the next hour trying to convince him why my sources are credible. Even then, why shoot me down? To add to this, the cameras didn't even have batteries! So, I went to Ted's
