I brought a kia cerato 2011 all up 18k I was naive at the time and was pushed by the car staff to buy it and when I tried backing out felt forced and talked into getting it by staff. The car had problems with suspension and wheel alignment from day one and had specialty nuts which required a special tool only made for that particular car which I wasnt given. And when the tyre needed changing I was unable to and had to spend Money getting it towed and was unable to use it for 2 weeks.
I should have not been approved from the financial team to loan the car yet I was. I very much regret going to John Hughes and will advise everyone to go elsewhere. On TV the company holds a reputation of Honesty and great service but at no time did I experience that.

Purchased extended warranty 18 months ago, was a week late for one service and suddenly nothing is covered. I advised that air con going at last service they said wait until next service also my rear window does not shut. They said wait till next service. That's 10,000km away! I can not use the car as windo does not shut so voids insurance and it is too hot and dangerous for my grandchildren in the back. Hoping the WA consumer guarantee is honoured otherwise I have to take them to legal action.

Just had my car serviced, used their mobile mechanic previously. Could not have had a better experience. Staff were courteous and efficient and they were upfront regarding cost.
I appreciated the screen showing approx completion time as I could then time my caffeine fix without having to rush, also appreciated the cappuccino and biscuits.
Bonus in using the service centre was a washed and vacuumed car. Will definitely return for the next service in one years time.
Thank you.

I am a tradesman and have a work vehicle so I don't always drive my personal car. I drive my 2013 Aurion once every 2-3 weeks and for not even a long distance. Have had this car since December 19th 2015 and only driven it 2500km, which for Perth is good.
Took it in to get its first service from Welshpool Service Centre and all i asked for was a standard service. I get a phone call 2 hours later saying it needs 'this, and that' etc and reassuring me that it needs to be fixed. (haven't had a problem with the brakes AT ALL)...
Then when I went to collect my vehicle, what should've been a standard service ($200) cost me about $800 and had the nerve to say the next time i get a service, I have to get 4 new wheels... Bull**** mate. I have mates who are car nuts and know everything about cars (one is a racer) and said the tyres are fine.

I'm hoping not to go there again but might have to due to the warrenty stating that i have to go to a John Hughes Service Centre.

(And don't even get me started on how they 'swindled' me into getting a car i didn't want.) - READ BEFORE YOU SIGN

One of the worst service centres. I am never going back to this place.
Last time i serviced my car at vic park and i asked them to do wheel alignment for my car. No reports were given to me.
Asked them to replace my wipers but they were still old and charged me for it.
Totally overpriced.
Charged me $700 last time and they asked me if anything was wrong with the car when i handed my car in, i said everything is fine and just needs normal servicing.
In next 30 minutes i receive a call saying my front break liners are worn out, i said, i havnt had issues with my breaking at all and i drive 2 cars, my car has a very good braking system till now,.(they wanted to charge $600 more, that makes $1300 bill for a car which is just 2 years old )
The girl on the phone says you will have to sign a report when you pick up your car, i said its ok, i will do that.
When i pick up my car, she did not even come out and someone else handed my car keys to me with no reports provided to me. He was rude too and just asked me, if i knew where my car was parked. No courtesy at all

Awful! They never fixed my car even though its under warranty, I ended up getting it fixed at another dealership. They are overpriced too.

When something went wrong with our newly bought car, Deb and her team literally saved Christmas by going above and beyond what I think they were obligated to under the warranty. I guess people only offer a review on these sites if they are unhappy, but we certainly were happy, so well done team!

Wow just wow

My work van (im a private contractor) has sliding side doors which lock with the central locking. Only the one stopped locking with it awhile ago( so i was manually locking is and that was ok) then just yesterday the other one decided it wanted to join the disobedience party and not lock either ( they both unlock ok) a while ago i did a delivery to a european car repairer and i asked a guy who owns the service yard what the issue was and he told me what i suspected,

i knew John Hughes had a loan car option available for while they fix yours ($30 for a loan car when any other dealership gives u a loan car free of charge i think thats a bit low), so i went to book It in and got told its $181.50 TO DIAGNOSE THE ISSUE. I told the guy what the issue is the doors dont lock how much harder can it possibly be??? Im no mechanic but that seems pretty simple. Also theres a shuddering when it changes( being auto) from 3rd to 4th god knows how much thats gonna cost to get sorted

Loan car issue i was told originally that theyre booked out 2 and a half weeks in advance( luckily they had one free next monday)

Ontop of all this THEY COULDNT EVEN TELL ME APPROXIMATELY HOW MUCH IT WILL COST i have the right to know as the paying customer it cant be that hard to find out when ur service centre is just through a set of glass sliding doors

Also i understand that servicing the car maybe a bit more specialised but I can get a minor service done for about $280
They wanted to charge me 465.00 because apparently im a rockafella

I took it in previously to have the aircon fan replaced as it had a fight with a plastic bag the bag won and screwed the motor on the fan that cost me over $700 because it was like $300 in LABOUR costs what the hell??

I always trusted John Hughes and his services and was very happy to buy good second hand car for good price. As it just passed 3 year factory warranty I was offered 36 months Elite warranty for quite a big money. For peace of mind I bought it .
My car was written off after bad accident . I was holding this warranty (and car) just for 3 and half months. When I asked for money refund (for32.5 months) as warranty subject does not exist any more they said that I have not chance to get any money back. Layers should perhaps look into this option. It should be considered as important point in warranty agreement. I feel ripped off from such a good company as I originally thought.

I don't understand how a company can charge $300 for two hours of just looking at a car to see what was wrong with it, the car wasn't even fixed just assessed. At the end of the assessment when I informed them the quote they gave me was too expensive and I'd like the car back as I'll take it elsewhere, I had to wait 1 hour in a waiting room for the car when I was told I could pick it up at 7.30am because the car had not been put back together. And then to top this unpleasant experience all off I opened the backdoor when I got home only to find the engine bay protection cover in the back seat!! Not re installed just like it was when I gave them the car. Meaning I had to waste another day of my time to go back and get it re installed. Will not be coming back to John Hughes Service Centre again, and will definitely pass the word on about the terrible service here. To fix the car they quoted $1500 , I got it fixed by a mobile mechanic for $250. You just lost lots of customers and I will never buy a car in any of you yards.

Thanks for you feedback sorry about your experience. We would like to follow this up with our staff and I was wondering if you could contact me directly by email on [email protected]. with more details.
