Price for the repair is fair, happy with the leak repair done on my ac unit

I had my Wine Fridge quoted and repaired with this company. They quoted me and told me they need replacing my compressor in the unit,
I trusted them on told them to go ahead with the repair, about 4 days later I received a phone call and they told me all fixed and operating perfectly and I transferred the full amount in there account. When the technician dropped off the fridge on the next day I inspected the unit and my old compressor was still in my fridge and he told me to ring his Boss but I never got a phone call back,
About 7-8 weeks later the fridge stoped working again and after got another company to inspect the unit they told me. NO GAS IN THE UNIT in other words the unit has a leak .
Spending 990 for repair and 200 dollars for call out service I believe that this company is total dishonest and a laugh

Lie, Mislead, Poor Workmanship, Take More Money Than Quoted Price
Lied about pricing.. During first convo on the phone John said "We charge $230 to come have a look then they say the repair is $400 then you will get billed $400 but if you say no than it will be $230" well... they came had a look and charged me $300, added in extra $ saying ohh we also charge per 15min on top. (Fyi) Number of those billed minutes were while Johns repairer/tech was on the phone to John.

Got a pricing few hours later.. ~$830
$300 first inspection
$250 for the part (Funny story about part pricing)
$290 to come out again and install it
(He takes credit card details upon booking so)

Took faulty part without informing me.. (I found this out when I called to say we won't go ahead with the repair)
Told me they will get it back to me in 2-3 working days
3rd day told me if I want it I can pay to have it dropped off.
4th day, text me stating I can go get it myself *45 min round trip* (hanging from letter box in a plastic bag)

Back to part price -- Ordered same part from another reputable aircon place. At time of order, decided to replace all thermostats not just the ONE faulty thermostat which John quoted me $250 for.
Faulty thermostat plus 3 other thermostats in my system (set me back $150 TOTAL) Ordered original Daikin parts
The part John said is $245+ is actually a $50 part *Original from Daikin (Part no. 1718056)

All I need to say is that our AC unit was working perfectly before a John's technician fiddled around with it. We needed a professional to check off the unit for an insurance claim. As he was whiling away the time at $35 per 15min, he has managed to block the draining system and it now leaks at any temperature below 21 degrees.

John's have flat refused responsibility repeatedly stating "that's what happens when you set the unit at 16 degrees"(an air conditioning unit...) They are refusing to fix the issue free of charge. Their phone manner is another matter all together... They hung up on me twice and their favourite brush off is "not my problem".

If you'd prefer your air conditioner to be a water feature or a home for fresh mussels, these are your guys.

They sent an inexperienced person to test our split system aircon and charged top dollar for it. They then proceeded to quote a minimum of $1,000 for a leak test and regas. I got the job done by another company for less than half that and feel they did a far better and more professional job as well.

Very impressed with how quickly Johns Refrigeration responded to my broken refrigerator. I had a professional serviceman out within 3 hours. Got the old girl started again as well. Very happy with his prices.

When its a cold night and your ducted heating ain't working you want a reliable and affordable company rep to come out ASAP and fix it ... yes this company certainly did it for us!

we found this company on google and found the call out fee to be very reasonable priced in comparison to others who were asking for double. (i think from memory it was $60 or $90 - i must check my invoice!!!)

the guy who came out to our home on the same day of us calling was polite and efficient and fixed the issue with the heating within about 20 minutes.

really happy with the service and the price paid!
