We moved from Bendigo Vic to Gold Coast Qld with King & Wilson. I work for a Bank and have moved house 15 times before with different removalists and never had a problem. King & Wilson loaded our furniture in Bendigo. Our furniture went into storage for a month. King & Wilson used a subcontractor to move from storage to our home. Our fridge was dented, table had a deep gouge in the top, leather lounges and rocker had holes in the leather. Worst move ever. The subcontractors didn't want to know about it. What we did notice when our furniture was being unloaded, was that King & Wilson did not pack our TV's in TV boxes which were quoted at $200 per TV.
When we contacted King & Wilson and advised them of the damage we were told "you have insurance". Despite several follow up phone calls to reception no one rang us back. No apology has been received
Although our insurance company paid for most of the damage we still lost our excess.
I would not recommend King & Wilson

3 Weeks later, and I am still awaiting delivery of my goods in Adelaide.

The problem is they won't even give us a delivery date for our furniture and it feels like we are being held to ransom - WHEN WE HAVE ALREADY PAID YOU FULL.

This is disgraceful. A moving company that won't move your goods - our stuff is still back in storage in Sydney.

Steer clear - do not use these guys. Ever

I recommend you steer clear of this company. They are appalling, disorganized, unreliable, unprofessional and fail to deal fairly with complaints , they just get defensive. Damaged my furniture while it was in storage ( not in transit) and refused to accept liability. They are now holding me to ransom and refuse to let me take my furniture back. Unbelievably bad.

Do not use King & Wilson. [redacted generalisations] Our belongings have been mixed up as 1 container was not enough and a shared one had to be used. We now have to wait for another 2 weeks for missing settee cushions etc. Nobody would respond to our emails and we were left in the dark about shipment. The company this end, Trans World were late without adequate warning and damage has been caused to the landlords house. No one admitted the first damage until confronted and the second was covered up so that now needs to be sorted out. Also you would think an experienced mover wouldn't use such a blade to open boxes and an item of furniture has been slashed. You guessed it, no admittance. Steer clear of both companies as I cannot believe anything will be done about it.

Definitely would not recommend them. The guy who did the quote overestimated the furniture going into storage and underestimated volume. This has flow on effect to the weekly storage costs. It's been nearly a month and our international container hasn't left Australia! But to top it off there has been communication from them at all - no response to my emails and they never ring me back. I'm putting in a formal complaint with AFRA. The guys doing the packing were great though.

Not even sure if this company still exists?? Took our full payment for an oversea move and never showed up on scheduled day. We've been calling everywhere and was told someone would get back to us but no one ever did. Flying out in a day now we are scrambling to look for storage unit for our stuff. Be warned.
UPDATE: a driver from King & Wilson called 30 mins after we managed to arrange a removalist and local storage unit, our stuff was picked up within next hour. It is understandable delays do happen more often than not due to the nature of such business but it would have been very helpful for King & Wilson to simply communicate the change of plan to us as soon as it was clear that the scheduled pick-up was not possible. We also strongly recommend that the "emergency" option for the K&W operations office phone line does in fact reach someone - My partner desperately tried to get a hold of anyone on Friday evening and Saturday morning without success, leaving us in complete uncertainty of what will happen to our move.

The way they create quotes is extremely deceptive, the estimated weights especially for book boxes will be well under what the actual weight will be and they will then charge extra after cartons have been collected.
Make sure you weigh your cartons if you pack yourself. The quote for 5 teachest cartons and 3 book boxes which I received included a weight of 140kg, 17.5kg per box. A 3/4ths filled book carton weighed 23kg when packed.
They are however pretty professional and helpful. Their quotes are just deceptive.

This is certainly not typical of the service outcome that we strive for and like to see. We have taken some time to review your comments and are now in a position to respond to the issue that you have raised regarding our quotation.

From the information we have on file you were provided with a quotation that was based upon your submitted inventory consisting of 3 x Book Carton - 41x30x33cm & 5 x Tea Chest Box - 43x41x60cm, with a volume allowance of 0.7 cubic metres and a total weight allowance of no more than 140 kgs in total, this relates to an average of 17.5 kgs per carton, we would like to kindly point out that the weight allowance that we have specified in our quotation is above industry standards, please note that all providers in the United States work off a common weight/volume density allowance of 6.5 lbs per cubic foot. As disclosed on our quotation your volume was 0.7 cubic metres, this equates to 25 cubic feet x 6.5 lbs per cubic foot which equals 162.5 lbs or 73.71 kgs, we would like to point out that our quoted allowance parameter of 140 kgs is almost double the industry standard.

We are a little surprised and disappointed that you have described our quotation as being extremely deceptive, as we have provided you with full disclosure of the weight, volume and carton types that our quotation is based upon prior to your acceptance, we do consider transparency to be extremely important and believe that we have acted with integrity when presenting our service proposal package to you for consideration. We also note that you have added one extra standard carton to your consignment, increasing the actual volume/weight allowance by 16%, thus placing upward pressure on the service value.

We trust the above paints a clearer picture of what has transpired with your consignment and we remain open to continue dialogue with you if you have any further queries.

The one thing we couldn't find finally turned up, so thus far all here and safe (had a cracked dish, that may have been that way before the move).

Hard to say enough good things about Cory and AJ. They were terrific, professional, personable, quite good guys to have around. They were very speedy but made sure everything was in the right place, beds together and all heavy stuff in the right places. For their size they are incredibly strong, but gentle enough with the fragile stuff. Many thanks to them for making a stressful time pretty easy.
