If your a low income earner, want someone who bulk bills, have a pension card or health care card need to see a doctor or need to see and meet some caring staff, "The Marion Domain" is for you...yes it gets busy at times and you'll have to wait your turn because appointments aren't made..and yes it gets tiresome hearing that sick child screaming in the next room but its worth it, to see a friendly smile for your doctor, someone you can really talk to and get some results from....I've been going there for years and I wont change now for anything....

I have my own doctor which i can see but you have to get in early. Always wander off and do shopping. If i was called while shopping, just let then know your back and go straight to the top of the pile

This is one of the few doctors in adelaide that bulk bill everyone still. But because of this you cant make an appointment and its walk in only so often you can find yourself waiting for a while. They offer a range of services in the building though such as dental and chiro. They are also very close to the massive marion shopping centre so in theory you could do your shopping while on the waiting list then come back. Its the sort of place you come to if you dont have much money or you cant get into your normal doctors.

This doctor is unlike most others in that you cannot make an appointment, and takes a while to get seen.

If you walk in, you will get put in the queue, and if you like you can go shopping at Marion for a while and pop back in - the library is also close by.

It's not great, but they bulk-bill and have really late opening hours.

Approximate cost: $Free

I have been here twice now and it is a unique set up, aimed at reducing the amount of people in hospital emergency rooms. You cannot make an appointment. There is a free multi-story car park on site, and you tell the receptionist at the desk you would like to see a doctor. You then wait for the next available doctor. The wait is generally around 45 minutes. It is bulk billed and has a discount pharmacy inside the building. It is open till late, and also has an x ray section and a dental section. The doctors are great, and even though waiting is a little long, it is completely free, and when I go to my normal doctor (who isn't free) he is often running at least half an hour late anyway, so it's really not much different.

Approximate cost: $free

The bad thing about going here is that you often have to wait a couple of hours to see a doctor, and that's not fun when you're sick. The doctors are helpful most of the time, but I've been here a couple of times and the doctors weren't able to diagnose me. Plus, if you have to go back for a follow up appointment or injection, you have to wait a couple more hours

I have frequently visited this doctors as it is my local surgery. The wait time is often very long which can be frustrating but you are allowed to go away once you have booked in (remember to advise the staff once you return). I have noticed that it is a lot quieter since they stopped bulk billing.

I could vaguely understand the way this clinic ran when they used to bulk bill - although it was still awful! I thought when they stopped bulk billing that their practices might improve but they haven't. I am a working professional and do not have time to sit around for who knows how long to wait for a doctor that looks down their nose at you and rushes you out as quickly as possible. I cannot understand why they can't have an appointment schedule! It is a terrible system, forcing most people to see multiple different doctors rather than waste half a day or more waiting for one particular doctor. This cannot be good for continuity of care! I would choose to stay at home and not see a doctor if this was the only choice. The desk staff are some of the rudest people I've met in my life and treat everybody like second class citizens. Massive thumbs down for this clinic.

Hi KerryR2, thanks for the detail which many will appreciate. Continuity of care certainly falls short in such establishments and one wonders how many lives could be saved with improved care. As for the receptionist staff, ignorance and impertinence appears to be a prerequisite of employment. Clearly a most unsatisfactory manner in which to conduct any business! Regards, Reeces

Waiting time is dreadful. I have waited well over 6 hours for an appointment. You feel rushed when you finally get to see a doctor and don't feel like you are getting your money's worth.
Definitely not a place for children to be patient.

Connieq, a six hour wait is shameful and should not be tollerated. Thanks for expressing your thoughts. Regards, Reeces

I had to go there cause i couldn't get an appointment at my local doctor. The service wasn't really friendly, i had to wait 4 hours to see a doctor and when i finally got in the doctor wasn't very friendly.
