Yes, yes and yes. The variety is just amazing. I live in northern NSW and can’t source a lot of products, but Maxi has them all, and l usually take back quite a few items in my suitcase.

The tall guy with the dark ‘bob-cut’ and 5 o’clock shadow in the Liquor Store, needs to learn that giving customers dirty, disapproving looks is actually rude and completely disrespectful. ( 1:35pm - March 15th - 2023 )
He was obviously not brought up properly, or has a complete lack of self awareness. Learn to say hello, learn to warmly greet customers like an old fashioned bottle shop, don’t look me up and down with your entitled “Gen Z” Scowl, due to me dressed as a tradie after an actual hard days work. You have a lot to learn from Walter, a true gent!
The young hipster has dismissed me before when I politely asked if I can come into the grocery store at 7:55pm to buy one item, just to witness his arrogant, dismissive shake of the head and hearing “Nup”. Seriously? “Nup”? Who raised you? Conceited, pretentious, entitled, hipster.

Huge selection of groccery items and nice not to give to the monopoly of the shopping industry. They have lots of spices which I love and delicious fresh bread

If you like fresh produce and quality food products look no further.

By far this has to be the best supermarket within a 10km radius. If you are familiar with Leo's in Camberwell and Kew it is owned by the same group and stocks the same items.

If you are somebody who loves cooking - and I don't mean microwave - Maxi is the place to go. Particularly if you are into artesean bread, fresh herb, spreads like strawberry rhubarb, smoked goods or a variety of cheese that goes beyond three different coloured cheddar bricks, then Maxi is your place. They also have a remarkable range of organic products such as Schulz Quark (from the great Ocean Road). Even though some of the products are more expensive than the stuff from Woolies and Coles, I'm always happy to throw some extra money on the counter for quality.

I agree. Their food has taste and is not available at the big two supermarkets.

I shopped here as I was sick of the big chains. Full range of supermarket items at competitive prices, plenty of specials. They have an excellent range of freshly baked breads, cakes, as well as "boutique" brands of biscuits, cakes, chocolates which are wonderful. Staff always helpful & friendly. Wide aisles, large fridge & frozen section. I'm happy I made the change from the chain supermarkets. Weekly shop cost aprox $10, less than at the big chains.

They do have decent weekly specials, however most of their fresh produce and meats are overpriced

Some lines are a bit more expensive than Safeway/Coles, but it is worth it to not have to put up with the rudeness & lack of service from the staff at Safeway/Coles.

My daughter lives near hear and afforded me a selection of seafood when visiting. The next time I did the baby sit of the kids I went back to this store where this seafood was purchased. I understand why they call it MAXI foods. The very smell of the sea in my purchase of the frozen Schnapper and barramundi and king george whiting, all over $30 a kg was exciting. The selection of asian and european goods are the best of the best said my Czech friend. This store is quality but don't come in with an empty purse. This is a gourmet store that offers seafood of the best that I have tasted anywhere in OZ apart from fishing in the sea myself.

Good supermarket for more of the obscure items, as well as the normal staples. Prices are comparable to other supermarkets. Some staff members are great, some you learn to avoid!
