Maylands Hotel

12 months ago I wrote a glowing review and meant every word...back today ( a Monday) with 4 friends for lunch and waited 45 minutes for our meal. Thai beef salad was missing the Nam Jim dressing so had to ask for it. Disappointing.

Met our friends here for lunch today. It is a long time since I have been here and it has been very nicely upgraded and is very gracious. I ordered the roast lamb from the Senior's menu but was surprised in the way it was served. It seemed to be more shank meat than slices of lamb. The others enjoyed other choices better than I enjoyed my meal (I do not like lamb shanks).

I remember I used to come here and it was fantastic.
I now come here and it's still fantastic!
The beer is cold, the meals are warm and they both taste good!
I must remember to come here more often

Wow we had a great meal and wine here last week. The menu was great and varied and well cooked. The service was fantastic and the venue overlooking then park was picturesque

Enjoyed the outlook from the restaurant but everything else was pretty ordinary. Menu was quite limited and wine list was limited as well. Food we order ed was quite good but side were non existent.

This is a very lovely hotel. With the recent upgrades it's had, the only downside is if you happen to sit near the pokies. I haven't been for a few years now but it was lovely every time I've been there. Food is excellent and service is good.

This hotel has a number of sections, bistro, dining, bars and pokies. It also has a private room which is great for conducting a meeting while having a meal. The staff are most helpful in ensuring all is running to schedule.

The dining room has a good menu with some specials. This is not the cheapest dining room but the food is good together with the friendly staff. Nothing is too much trouble. I enjoyed the steak meal on my last visit and have also had snitzels which are great value.

a lovely bright atmosphere always looks spotlessly clean and the front of house staff can't do enough to help you. The kitchen staff are good too as i haven't ordered one thing there that I didn't enjoy

The staff and menu seems to change every few weeks.
The first two meals we had there we great for pub food, but the third time we went they wouldn't let me have a beef parmi, I could only get a chicken parmi, they had beef schnitzel with mushroom sauce on the menu, but wouldn't accommodate making it into a parmi for me.
The cheese and mustard bread was just cheese melted on white bread - no mustard to be seen or tasted.
Also they have changed the lighting the in the bars - it is now so dark you can hardly read the menu.
