For many years I was considering eye correction procedure but always would find an excuse not to do it. Wearing glasses and being depending on it I came to conclusion , if such technology exists and for so many years with a good outcome why I should reject? I made one phone call to the clinic and after that everything has happened very quickly. I did not have any doubts from the moment I entered this amazing beautiful Clinic. I can not thank enough staff being so professional although warm and human. Particularly in those times with Covid when many medical Institutions lost their maine purpose to carry about patients. From administration to Dr Medownick himself , I was treated with a great professionalism and amazing outcome.
I got my vision better then ever, and now I can see everything in details which I did not know exist. I can snorkelling without lenses. Never enjoyed it so much and that is only because of a miracle outcome after procedure.

I had my laser eye surgery at 50 years of age , 20 years ago and it was the best decision I ever made as I discarded my contact lenses then. I was very happy with the pre and post consultations, and recommend this clinic highly.Truly it’s like a miracle waking up and have perfect vision every day. I only rely on reading glasses now. .

I went there with glasses and ask the question, I cant tell you if there is a better place to go, but what I can tell you is that I no longer ware glasses. I found the staff very friendly, the laser sugary was a little scary, but well worth the discomfort. Plenty of follow up appointments to make sure everything went to plain. Over all I would recommend.

My wife had IOL performed approx. 5 weeks ago and I had mine last week. So far we are both reading without glasses, still a little off at distance but that is rapidly improving. The staff were extremely informative at all stages and answered all of our questions without hesitation. Could not ask for better service from start to (almost) finish.

I wouldn't let these guys near me with a laser! Firstly, I went in and was ushered into a room with an opthomologist (I assume she was, she never told me her name much less her role) who was more interested in talking about everything other than why I was there. She even opened confidential files to discuss other people's surgeries. I had to keep bringing her back to the subject of my own eyes. She proceeded to put drops in my eyes without telling me I'd end up photosensitive and with a migraine! I wasn't told anything about what she was doing it or why, other than that the drops would dilate my pupils and leave me "looking like a junkie" for a bit. Then I was sent to another room where the pretty sales lady attempted to sell me a surgery date, much like someone would sell you a fridge. She contradicted everything the previous woman had said and when I challenged her on some flippant statements it became clear she had no idea what she was talking about. I found them unprofessional and that it was more about the bottom dollar than my own optical health. Would not recommend

My experience at Medownick Laser Clinic was fantastic. I am extremly happy with my results. I originally called for general information. Whilst on the phone the girl on the other endn explained everything with great details - she must have been trained extremely well. When it was time for my appointment, reception were friendly, helpful & full of life.
The medical staff that did my consultation made me feel very comfortable, they explained everything in detail. A consultant spoke with me shortly after to explain costs and payment plans. This was satisfactory as I left the clinic well informed & feeling comfortable. I wasn't pressured into booking the surgery on that day. Once home, I was so satisified with the outcome of the consultation I called up and booked in. The surgery day itself gave me enormous butterflied,but will the happy, friendly and sincerely caring reception my nerves soon disappeared and I was prepared for surgery. After care was great throughout all my appointments and I am extrelmely with the entire process and procedure.
My only regret is not getting it done sooner.

Wow Dr. Medownick is an eccentric chap, he performed my laser eye surgery at 11pm after he had been to the opera! The time suited me as i didn't have to take daytime of work. He was dressed very elegantly lol and I am very happy with the results. The only negative is i now have like a halo around lights when i look at them at night. The darker it is the worse the halo effect is. I have got used to it now but after the procedure at the follow up visit i was told that another surgery for it could not be done and it commonly happens. I had spoken to many people and researched eye surgery via laser in great detail and none of them had had this occur. In fact only one negative was a guy who said he felt he had sand in his eye 24/7. i was told this is rare and thankfully I do not have this side effect. The eye doc said it may disappear after time but as yet it has not. I was especially happy with the follow up consultations. Everything was bulkbilled, and i could come as many times as i needed afterwards. One other negative thing was the receptionists were very production line like and when a new client came in and said they were in a hurry, they were taken in before me after I had already waited 25mins after my appointment time and she was seeing the same eye specialist that i did

I had laser eye surgery done here 2 months ago.

My initial consultation was very rushed, running from room to room. There was not much time to ask questions. I was disappointed I could not talk to someone who had actually had the procedure done.

The day of the surgery was as expected. The sleeping tablets were very effective so I do not remember much. I do remember the very painful eye clamps!

The after-care was fairly good, although they forgot to give me more than one script for one of the eye drops. This was easily rectified by calling them, and they post it to me.

I am very happy with the result so far. I was, however, an "ideal candidate" so I can't speak for others.

I called Medownick for general information about laser eye surgery and the lady I spoke to was helpful and understanding. When I arrived for my consultation, all staff were friendly, helpful and explained the procedure clearly. They also discussed payment options to help with the financial side of things. I felt as if all my questions had been answered and I was under no pressure to rush my decision. Leading up to my surgery, staff called to check that I was comfortable with what the procedure entailed and that I was prepared for the day. On the day I was made to feel relaxed, welcome and kept informed of what was happening. Afterwards, the staff continued to check that I was recovering well, and I returned for regular checkups to ensure my healing was on track.
Overall, all staff were very professional and caring, and I would recommend Medownick to anyone considering laser eye surgery.
A life-changing experience and I am grateful everyday.
