I needed a new sprinkler system for my lawn, and Metro delivered excellent results. They installed a smart system that keeps my lawn lush without wasting water. My garden has never looked better!

Thanks to Metropolitan, my pipes are as good as new! Instead of digging up my garden for replacements, they used pipe relining technology, saving time and money. Fantastic work and a sustainable approach to plumbing!

I had some leaking faucets and fixtures at home and their plumber promptly fixed the issues and gave me tips on maintaining faucets to prevent future leaks. Metropolitan provided skillful service, and I will call them for any plumbing repairs in the future.

Those persistent leaking taps were driving me crazy until I hired them. They sent a skilled plumber who swiftly fixed the issue. Not only did they repair the taps, but they also checked for any potential leaks in other areas. The service was prompt, and the plumber was friendly and courteous. My taps are now leak-free, thanks to them!

Outright rip off charged 3500 dollars for leak testing was 1539 2039 on a breecher. That should cost under 850 . My problem still there. With all that special expensive equipment and still can't locate leak. Now quoted another 5000 for a guessing game. Yeah and uf that doesn't work another 4000 . Looking everywhere but where you can hear the leak. Then quoted 1500 to retile 4 tiles that they did a 2000 repair and can't put 4 tiles back on. Want another 1500 . What is going on. Do not use this company. i wish i had done my research on this company before trusting them. do not do not do not use this company

Approximate cost: $3500

Hi. First off just a public service announcement for those who do not know. Metropolitan Plumbing were picked up by A Current Affairs for preying on the vulnerable and are known to pay off people to delete negative reviews.

For our job we needed a pre bought rainwater tank installed to existing plumbing work and investigation into a smell from the bathroom. They were pushy with coming on site at a time that we were not in a good mental space (2 year old just home from hospital which they knew). On site they advised of their fix priced approach and then identified the work that would need to be done with minimal investigation. We queried a number of elements but were assured all the work was necessary so went ahead and signed the contract.

The bulk of the effort quoted was around connecting the plumbing to the street which the plumber quickly advised was not required work as it was already done by our builder. The work done was of average quality including installing a soft close toilet seat that doesn't properly connect to the toilet. Installation of a rainwater tank pump without installing a strainer which is mandatory for warranty. The plumbing connections were average (including use of gas fittings instead of plumbing) and we have been experiencing regular overflows.

As the quote was fixed price they did not offer to reduce the cost until significant effort on our part assess comparable quotes, high end hourly rates for plumbing contractors and, eventually, bring in the ombudsman. Even still the price eventually paid was more than $1,000 over the highest comparable quote received (after about a $2,000 reduction).

We didn't take any action with Metropolitan Plumbing as we have no desire to re-engage them after the way they treated us but in the wake of the above news we did query them about compensation / returning to fix the issues to which they replied "Due to the age of the job itself and it has been heavily discounted in the past, there is nothing we can do at this time". No attempts to resolve or apologise.

We have since had other plumbers attend the site and our experiences have been great.

Approximate cost: $3500

My daughter urgently needed a dishwasher fitted as her child is extremely ill in the Children's Hospital and hygiene when they return home is paramount.

Called Metropolitan Plumbing, who said they would send someone out to give me a fixed price quote, as “they couldn’t give a price until they’d seen the job”.

The job was in fact purely to fit a cold water splitter, providing water to both the cold tap and the dishwasher. No cupboards needed to be cleared out, no holes needed to be cut, no pipes or cables needed to be run, no new outlet was required, no power points need to be fitted, the dishwasher didn’t need to be fitted into the cabinet space, the dishwasher pipes didn’t need to be run under the sink – all of the above had already been done. All that was required in terms of plumbing was to fit a $30 cold water splitter – full stop.

The plumber arrived and told me that there was a flat fee for fitting a dishwasher: $790. I asked why he needed to come to assess the job if it was a flat fee and why I wasn’t told what the flat fee was when I contacted Metropolitan Plumbing in the first place? He didn’t know. On top of that he was also charging an additional call out fee.

I had no choice but to go ahead as my daughter and grandchild would be home and I had no time to get another plumber, so stupidly I agreed. I shouldn't have, but I was desperate.

From the time the plumber walked through the door to the moment he left was 25 minutes. The cost was $839, including a part supplied worth about $30, so the cost of having him here was more than $1900 per hour.

If you want to pay $1900 per hour for a plumber then Metropolitan Plumbing is for you.

Approximate cost: $839

Do not touch Metro Plumbing at any cost. Our septic system blocked on a weekend. Sadly we called Metro Plumbing. Cost $12000 to replace 3 meters of pipe. We went ahead with the quote as we felt that we had no other choice. They also wrote their own review. Still paying for it. Worst decision we ever made.
