Very relaxed atmostphere with friendly staff. Delicious food, very impressive food in fact for a bistro. Enjoy the lounge area too if you want to relax with friends after your meal. Highly recommend.

We went to the Old England on a Tuesday night- it was very busy which looked like a good sign. We were warmly greeted at the front and I asked if they had candles for our birthday cake and was told they did. The food was nice, nothing to write home about but ok. The service however was very bad. Plates were being cleared in dribs and drabs. We finished our meals and after waiting half an hour for someone to come near our area, we had to get up to ask for the birthday cake (by this time, 'birthday man' had figured out there was a cake to come because it was 8.30pm, my children were restless and ready for bed and we were still sitting there so it was obvious...). Cake did not come for ten minutes, then we had to ask again, and the cake came out with no candles, just sparklers. And even then, the cake came out without the table being fully cleared, we still had plates and glasses on the table!

This is quite a nice hotel old on the outside but pretty the meals are fantastic quite a selection to choose from which i found hard to decide ...the chili prawns were great and so was the risotto plenty of parking to be had and staff really friendly.

Good quality food as expected for pub style, generous portions. Very friendly staff throughout. The old E has been around forever and the latest, renovated version is the best.

This bistro was recommended to me and for good reason... The meal was fantastic, perfectly portioned and reasonably priced. I had to refrain from licking the plate clean.

The Old England Hotel in a lovely old building. Our meals were all good typical pub meals that were decent size portions, prices were a little bit on the pricey side but still tasted good. Table service was a bit slow.

Awful food, sorry fish and chips and eBar burger were terrible.
Side salad looked wilted and old.
Great service though seriously polite. But less than ordinary pub food. Oh disappointed!

I again have been left with a memorable meal and time. Value yes. It helps me to return here because I used to monthly take Aunty Jess (97years) and she was a delightful human being.

Approximate cost: $25
