1st step the salon is very homely warm and filled with love
it is done up with the clients comfort in mind
wonderful leather back washer units I loved them as I had my feet up on the auto poof as I had a treatment done
basin isn't hard, it is very relaxing that I slowly differed off to sleep
styling chair very comfortable
salon Is very clean and I watched bill as he washed the brushes after the client before me had been finished, and then they where laid out on the styling trolley onto a new clean towel
both phillip and bill are very friendly, I got a glass of red wine and free snacks

love the colour and cut

I buckled down and searched Yelp for a good place to try - since I was in BAD need of a GOOD trim - and my color needed done as well. After reading the reviews here I couldn't wait to try it!

They welcomed me so warmly into this quaint salon on a steaming hot summer day - which just so happened to be my birthday. When I told Phillip of this - he continued being the sweet and charming fellow he is as he colored my hair - we opted for some highlights - and he even through a few in extra for my birthday!

It’s a quirky little gem of a place and quite a bargain. The cut and blowout for $70 is a great deal. I have come here maybe five times now, (only for the cuts, never had they do colour...yet) the first time I came it was just a matter of finding the closest decently reviewed place for a trim.
I’m the kind of person who procrastinates haircuts for many months and then makes last min appointments in a fit of loathing when my split ends are screaming to be put out of their misery.
Thankfully, the stylists here all know how to do a trim or a cut for someone like me who does not want a razor within twenty feet of her.
Then they give me a dreamy blowout and I walk out looking damn good!

Calls are answered promptly. Last minute appointments are always available, they are always accommodating, non-judgemental accessible and friendly. And yes they do take credit cards

there are a lot of great personalities packed into the small space. I’ve grown quite fond of them. It feels like a bubbly sitcom and I mean that in the best way possible!
But the haircuts they give me are thankfully neither bubbly nor sitcoms, just silky and natural.

I've seen Phillip almost every time. He does a great job on my hair.
I saw Bill last time and he was fantastic as well, a bodacious force to be reckoned with I was nervous to see someone other than Phillip but bill really "got in the zone," with his assessment of my hair and his expertise was quickly apparent.
Like father like son he gets it. He works quickly but with fierce attention to detail. He takes pride in his work and he holds himself to a high standard. He is good at this.
Yay for a salon that understands my needs: they get that I do not want to look like Jennifer Aniston

My treatment started off with an in-depth consultation followed by an initial lesion from bill & Phillip on the colour wheel, and what depth my hair could or couldn't go.

when I sat down I choose the YING TYANG as I hate having a regrowth and this method stated no regrowth, I was I wanted this, as stated everything was explained, Phillip is a master hairdresser, however I became scared he stated cutting my hair dry, what was he doing I know I told him I wanted something different something that would suite me but he hasn't coloured my hair yet, I looked at him and his son saw my look and came over and said dad cuts dry before doing a colour as if you cut after colouring your cutting the colour out
Phillip finished cutting then I was amazed 4 colour bowls with colour was placed on a tray by bill and Phillip started section here 1 colour there another colour I couldn't keep up with what he was doing 30 minutes later washed out, he then fingered dry me omg o,m,g it it was wooooo the colours every section was different the cut I messed it up it fell in place phillip i.l.u I went to see the new salon in Molesworth street its sick

This has been my best hair salon experience in Australia to date. I went here after seeing the salon on a walk down the street.
I decided to make an appointment, and I am blown away by the result.
It is a father & son & doggy run salon, everyone was extremely friendly and courteous.
I was greeted by the dog 1st whose name is summer, SHE IS AN OLD DOG AGED 12, BUT SHE HAS SO MUCH LIFE RUNNING THROUGH HER
Once I sat down, in front of me was a tray set with a tea pot, bone china cup & Saucer, and biscuits and other sorted goodies all for me to enjoy
Phillip came over, and started running his fingers through my hair, then without me saying anything, he told me how I slept and my sleeping habits and he told me I lacked iron which was very true. Then he pointed out the last cut 2 months ago was very badly cut and he showed me the back, it wasn’t even at all it had be hacked and was a mess to me now he was a miracle worker/magician.
I had a poor highlighting job done a few months prior at another salon, and it caused my hair to be lifeless and faded out very quickly, but my visit to see Phillip under his magical hands brought my hair back to life.
I showed him pictures of the look I was going for, and he understood and created this beautiful masterpiece on my head.
I am very pleased with the overall vibe of the salon, cleanliness, friendliness of the staff, the products used on my hair (my sister is a stylist in San Francisco/Los Angeles so I know what products are good), the expertise of the stylists, and of course the resulting hairstyle.
This will definitely be my go-to salon from now on!

Okay. Had to take a deep breath before writing this because you're about to witness a miracle photo cant be loaded on this site....MY HAIR WAS FRIED

I called a whole bunch of salons in the hills area because I did not want to venture far (I'm sort of lazy). I even walked into one will remain unnamed. They looked at me and then my hair and automatically said "no". Who could blame them, right? It looked like I stuck my hair in a deep fryer. I'm not even kidding, I was borderline depressed and was crying every 15 minutes.

Let me make this debacle of a hair story short and I'll get right into how Dr Phillip Michael's & his son Bill took care of me (sorry if I butchered your names here). My hair was bleached probably more than 6 times and toned more than 5 times all within a month.

When I say that it was breaking off at just me sneezing, I'm dead serious. I was going from naturally dark almost black hair to white blonde unsuccessfully. I basically compromised the life out of my hair. It wouldn't even move with the wind. It was frail, stiff, breaking close to the root, tangled, fried, and the ugliest color ever.

I finally took matters into my own hands and dyed it a reddish brown which left it a nice blonde color.

To tried everything to rehab my hair. I wrapped it in olive oil, coconut oil, I slept in it, I used aphogee protein two step treatment, I used redken's extreme shampoo and conditioner, I used it's a 10 leave in conditioner and their keratin hair mask! I used bought Schwarzkopf bonding shampoo and their bonding potion and mask. The list goes on. I probably spent two grand alone.

It was STILL effed up. I decided to give up completely and thought about shaving my head. I had already cut 5-6 inches off.

I finally called Phillip Michael's and he was very nice on the phone, and he laid out my options and gave me hope. I made an appointment to see him that very same day. They did not judge me. He examined my hair very closely and recommended the Keratin Treatment.

bill gave me the absolute best hair wash I've ever received at a salon. he was very thorough and gave the best head massage.

Phillip and Bill convened. Phillip applied the keratin and Bill blow dried my hair and flat ironed it. he was so friendly and sweet! Everyone was. They made me feel so special.

I definitely DEFINITELY recommend this salon if you're looking to rehab your hair. These people are so talented. I am happy to say that I've found my "go to" here in Parramatta after having lived here for 5 years.

by the way Phillip is a wizard cutting hair, it looks very strange as he cuts into the hair, as he works so differently to any hairdresser ho cut my hair before. His cut I just washed it and let it airdry and it dry's like I just had my hair done

I must admit that I'm not used to visiting salons for a gents cut due to the long length and challenging nature of my hair!

Believe me it was long (and crazy).

Despite being a train wreck of nerves everyone treated me so well and put me at ease.

The staff’s attitude and mannerisms is extremely polite and I felt very welcome.

The Salon is clean, welcoming, and stylish and the music they play is very relaxing and pleasant.

I found Phillip Michael’s very open and warm and very on the ball, when it came to me trying to explain I wanted a total new look, he stood back from me and studied my hair, my wife was giggling like a school girl watching him.

He then said to my wife come over, she got up and stood next to him, Phillip said to her look in the mirror at your husband and tell me why you feel in love with him, my wife said I fell in love over his eyes and nose and his sexy arse.

Phillip smiled and said I haven’t looked at his arse yet, but I am looking at his eyes, nose, lips, forehead, my wife looked and said cool.

He then explained step by step to us I want to create new look as your husband is after, so I was thinking take the back and sides short say clipper to no4 then a slight perm to give the top a loose shaggy look, and add a few natural highlights of blue black to give it a glow. My wife agreed so my transformation took on a new life after 2 hours I was finished and let me say it was the best $300 spent

Outstanding Customer Experience and a very talented stylist
I've had the same hair style in with slight alterations so was looking for a modern hair salon in Parramatta to help me create a modern, edgier style. Quick look through Google and Daniel Lee and Phillip Michael’s came up so booked an appointment with them and possibly one of the best decisions I've made in a long time. Was booked in with Phillip one of the Designers and immediately from the word of had faith in him abilities to deliver what I wanted.

The salon was very modern and professional with a relaxing atmosphere; couldn't ask for much more.

Back to Phillip, at the start I only had an idea of how I wanted my style to be so have her creative licence to make it happen and she explained every step of the cut, what she was doing and why which only boosted my confidence in her further. he took time to get to know what I liked, how I styled it, what techniques I used etc soshe could teach me how to keep up the style once I left the salon.

An hour and a bit later I left with the perfect style, one of the best salon experiences I've had to date and can't wait to come back to such a talented stylist again soon. Can't recommend the salon enough!

Remembering Phillip as the go-to place when I first left Leicester all those years ago, I looked them up online and saw how the business had expanded and had won numerous awards for quality and service. I also saw the new Barbers service for men at the King Street salon with Phillip. Having just returned home from visiting Jamie; I can only say how ultimately impressed I was with not only the friendly service and value, but mostly with the quality of the haircut I ended up with. Jamie took his time to understand what I wanted and delivered an exceptional cut and style that I have to say is a bit of a 'Carlsberg' i.e. probably the best haircut I've had! Well done Phillip; a credit to the business and highly recommended. DG
