Good Strong Cocktails - plenty of atmosphere, didn't eat there this time but heard the food is good, heaters in winter and plenty of seats

Approximate cost: $18

Used to be a great place with UK beer and even Middlesbrough Parmo on the menu. But recently they have stopped selling British beers in this British pub, so it's now just another Brisbane bar. Lots of complaints from friends about service, such a shame to see a good idea go wrong.

this place is great, not only for its yummy food but also the friendly staff, very helpful even when you ask what and how an item on the menu is cooked/prepared. The atmosphere is great and love coming back time and time again

Slooooowwwww .... The time to get a seat, to get a menu, to have someone take an order is astounding. You also need to keep asking to get your drink. The food is nice, the ambiance is pleasant, but the service is just painfully slow.

Popped in here last Saturday after shopping. As I'm Gluten intolerant I'm always wary of what I can eat on menus. The waitresses here could have been more nicer or more helpful.
They went out of their way to find out what I could actually eat.
I ended up with the Lamb Shanks without the mash potatoes but I was given extra vegetables. Absolutely lovely. the meat just fell off the bone. My husband had already eaten earlier in the day and he had the Caesar salad with chicken. He even asked for extra dressing and a large portion was produced for him.
Though we were eating undercover on the busy Queen Street shopping centre it felt as if we were in a restaurant not a pub.
Great service, friendly atmosphere. I will definitely eat there again next time I'm in Brisbane.

Approximate cost: $17-28

Standard chain pub experience. Markets itself as a British pub, meaning you ask for a beer and you get a pint, also meaning you pay the premium on top, so it works out a little expensive. The foods pretty pricey too. Its good, but not great, all in all a more than reasonable place to drink, safe and relatively peaceful, none raucus environment, just nothing spectacular.

Approximate cost: $20

Very expensive steak which was not that much better than I could get it elsewhere, but I guess you pay a premium for high-rent CBD outlets. The wait staff were friendly and efficient.

Menu is varied, desserts are from the cabinet which I usually avoid in case the turnover isn't high and you end up with something a few days old. But with Pig N Whistle open 24/7, it's a pretty sure bet that things sell fairly quickly. Anyway, the cheesecake was good!

Good for an after-movie meal because of the late hours.

Approximate cost: $35

While we did go there on a Friday night, I didn't expect it to be quite as crazy as it was. We were say next to a VERY loud and clearly very drunk man who was yelling obsenities - not the pub's fault, but they could have cut him off or asked him to quieten down. They took forever to take our order for drinks, forever to bring the drinks and then forever to take our food order... Not surprisingly, it took a long time to get the food too. While the food was alright, it certainly wasn't worth what they charge. A pub meal is a pub meal, and shouldn't be priced as an upmarket restaurant. Overall I wasn't impressed. I am willing to believe that it would have been nicer on a Wednesday night or something, but I wouldn't recommend it.

Every time we have been here the staff seem surprised with the crowd even though there are only 5 of us. They don't seem to have much of an idea of what is going on. One time we were here 5 minutes before they opened and they wouldn't let us in because they had to 'prepare' the place only to let us in with ants all over the tables and along the window sills. Meals were small for how much they were especially considering it was pub food but tasted very nice
