Three of us went here for breakfast on a Sunday morning, and as can be expected of a popular cafe in Melbourne, we had to wait. We waited for about 15 minutes.
Our coffee's were really yummy and well made, and the menu was hard to choose from with lots of interesting combinations. It was a bit different to other popular cafe menus which was nice. The two people I went with ordered scrambled egg dishes which looked and apparently tasted DELICIOUS. The eggs were fresh and a dark yellow, and were scrambled really well. I ordered the pancakes, which sounded better on paper unfortunately. The pancakes were well cooked and most of the accompaniments were tasty (maple with cacao nibs, fresh berries, and mascarpone). There was also an apple, rhubarb, and vanilla bean 'jelly' which sort of ruined the dish for me. It wasn't a clear jelly and was more like a thick jellied puree. The taste didn't match the dish particularly well and the texture was somewhat unpleasant.
In saying that, everything I saw going out looked delicious and serving sizes for everything were super generous! Will definitely go back and try out some of their other menu options.

had the eggs on toast which was quite filling but nothing too memorable, quite expensive as well but good quality food nonetheless

I have been here before and found the food was far too expensive when considering the quality of the meal.

Lovely setting, good food and extremely busy. Make sure you get there and be prepared to wait a little while for a seat. All the food brought out looks tantilisingly appetising and the coffee is pretty good too. Would definitely go again :)

Outstanding quality coffee selection with everything from cold drip, siphon to aeropress. the wait time here is disappointing with always a 20-40 minute wait and rushed out the door when youre finished your meal. the food is quality, sometimes rushed and underseasoned but an okay compromise if you want honest, quality food. not a place for vegans - too much in the way of bread and egg options but good nontheless. worth a look if youre in the richmond area!

I have been here a couple of times, if you go here on a weekend for breakfast expect a 20-30 minute wait. The food is fantastic, great coffee and the staff are always super friendly - especially considering how busy they are, they always seem really happy to have you. The benedict and mexican breakfast were favorites among our group.

What an awesome addition to the Richmond cafe scene.
The coffee is outstanding, and I love the creativity in the menu.
I love the fact that they change their menu seasonally. Gives you something new to come back for.
A great place for a catch up.

A very good brunch/lunch place, that has a creative and interesting menu beyond the standard breakfast/brunch fare of beans, eggs & sides. Food is generally good, although there is the occasional slightly burnt toast & over poached egg.

I love this place. These guys used to own Em Bar on Toorak Road, and they are great at what they do. The food is beautiful, fresh and healthy and the coffee is brilliant. The service is stand-out. The brothers that own it, are so friendly. I will always be going to Pillar of Salt for a take away baguette and coffee or for a sit down breakfast/lunch.

Had brunch here, they have my favourite outdoor area aside from Porgie and Mr Jones. My friend raves about the corn fritters and I had the Eggs Benedict, which is served with apple, leg ham and brioche. So yum. Service was great, the guy looking after us was friendly and engaging, and we were always being attended to. Standard price for high quality cafe fare, and good coffee too.
