I would not recommend them at all. $132 call out. Not refunded. $699 to unblock bathroom sink drain with plunger. 10 minutes work max Ripoff. Never again. Meant to be Jim’s plumbing but arrived in Metropolitan plumbing van. Not clear on the reason. Phoned me ahead to say this would happen. Plumbers respectful and competent. Prices outrageous. Last time I use Jim’s plumbing and Metropolitan plumbing.

I feel your pain, I also made the mistake of getting Jims to come and repair a blown hose on a tap in our bathroom vanity, with our 5yo twin grandsons and our daughter and son in law living with us I really needed to get water back on, they told me pressure reducing valve needed fitting as high pressure caused hose to blow, tap been there for 10 years and not caused a problem with high pressure he quoted me $1500 there about to fit valve and replace tap with hoses. Told him no just fix the tap and hoses. I foolishly accepted the price of $839 to replace the one tap.
I questioned the price as the tap with hoses cost $75 from Bunnings so I paid $750 + call out fee $132 to fit a tap that took 30 minutes!!!!
Tradie explained they have set prices and we are paying for 5 star service!!!! Mate you fitted a tap and hose !!!
I called customer service manager and explained my discuss at the rip off pricing and will never use or recommend Jims plumbing again and tell as many people as possible can to stay clear of them, his response was oh well I was going to give you a $200 credit but I wont now because of my comments, I got the credit but I still have to emphasise to anyone who thinks of using them - STAY CLEAR of this crooks !!!!!!!!

Call out fee $130
Waited all day for them to arrive were supposed to to arrive between 11am and 2pm and arrived at 6pm
Charged $690 for just using a high pressure hose and camera to check for a blockage. The work took only about 30 mins max. That's $1640 per hour.
This is a scam don't use them - I am a mug for paying that price.

I can't believe this company is allowed to stay in business. We dug a hole through a pvc pipe which was only 10cm underground instead of 30cm. We paid $132 over the phone to book. He arrived on time which was great and quoted what my husband heard as $99 to fix in under an hour. We thought that was reasonable at $231 all up. He was done in 20 mins. But what he'd actually said was $990. We were astounded and after some words he said he's take the booking fee off. He should have done that anyway! He said it's "standard pricing in the industry". That's rubbish. I'd hate to think of the vulnerable people in the community they rip off every day. Will never, ever use Jim's Anything ever again.

Approximate cost: $990

They came to my house and quoted $990 to put a changeover gas cooktop in.....a bona fide disgusting price....i already checked everything fitted and complied with current requirements. ....some smooth talking tradie or sales rep was trying to tell someone twice his age who is a qualified tradie (me) that i need to be careful of a plumber who charges $250 for a gas cooktop changeover. ...this company have no shame and do not care about value for money and definitely do not care about the customer....they are much more expensive than a vet or dentist....they refunded my $132 callout fee after i made a formal complaint to their customer service manager....please do not go there !!

Jim’s Plumbing charge $135 call-out fee. Usually such fees are credited against the cost of work, should the customer proceed. This is normal industry practice.

Jim’s Plumbing doesn’t do that. They pocket the fee then charge full tote for any work done. I had to really squeeze this out of the customer service representatives as they darted around the topic. To be blunt, this is a rip-off. Once I found out the truth, I said “thanks but no thanks” and found a host of local plumbers that charge no call-out fee. I suggest anyone looking for a plumber do the same.

The call out fee of $132, made me sign so I could not get a refund. We had a hole in my 3/4 inch waterline (plastic hose). It needed a 2-3 ft replacement piece of plastic hose and two joiners. The hose was exposed, so no digging. They wanted an extra $1199 to fix it. The price was ridiculous so could not get it done and no refund for callout out fee. Highway robbery. If I could give no stars I would. The guy was also very arrogant and we will never use this service again.

"Emergency" plumber not available for at least 26 to 28 hours time. Told me they could get someone out to me sometime the following afternoon. Maybe stop advertising a 1hr time frame.. its pretty useless when you have an actual plumbing Emergency and you don't need to be wasting your time.

Had a blocked drain and ended up paying $830 dollars for 15 minutes work. Have since found out market rate is less than half that. Disgraceful. Ripped off. Never use them again. The tradesman was professional and did a good job but the head office pricing is unethical and predatory as you have already paid the call out fee of $130 which does not come off the price. You pay for the tradesman to confirm you had a blocked drain that you already knew..

Approximate cost: $830

Quick and friendly service I thought it was fairly priced for a reputable company with warranty, 24/7 service etc. and they came out within the hour! Compared to some random local plumber who might not answer the phone or will say they're free in a week

Had Jim’s come out on Saturday $132 call out fee. Quoted $960 to replace taps and attachments underneath en-suite basin, as broke the pipe underneath unscrewing the taps to change washers. Water was poring out, so had to have mains turned off. They didn’t even offer to cap off pipes, so l could at least have water in the house for the weekend. Asked for an itemised quote, but was told they only provide if job completed!
Got another plumber to quote and was told $260!!!, $140 for parts and $120 Labour.
