10 reviews about Poppy's Thai Restaurant

The restaurant itself is a normal take-away style with lots of seating crampled in. The service was friendly. Food reasonably priced. We tried the lightly fried coconut costed pumpkin (yum), rotti bread and two mains. A peanut one and another with cashews. They were both nice. Everything was good except the coconut rice. We could smell that it had coconut but it tasted just like jasmin, not coconut try at all.

I always seem to get a curry and rice when i come here, and it always turns out sensational. The speed of which you are served is also really fast

Wanted a quick meal after doing a bit of shopping and on our way to a local concert - thought we'd try Poppy's - good choice! The service was speedy, waiters were friendly and helpful and the food very tasty. We shared a couple of basic mains - a not too spicy vegetarian tofu and all sorts of veg in a green curry - called Ana and the King; and a satay chicken and veg stir fry - yum! Small rice and we were out of there for around $40 feeling well-fed. Have booked again in a month with a few more friends this time - will get to try a few more dishes!

We decided to dine here because Lakeside Cafe was closed but we didn't expect the high prices and very average tasting meals. Would not recommend!

It was all quite nice when we got there, about 20min in we asked a waitress if they could take our orders. Then there were people leaving because they have waited up to 2 hours for their main meal, buy this stage we were only 1 out of 3 tables left. The service was a little better after this. They should add another Chef and Waitress as they seem to concentrate more on the takeaway orders than the customer in the restaurant. The food was beautiful, If and when I go back, it will only be for the food. PLEASE, PLEASE Add more staff, I would visit more often then :)

The food is pretty nice, but wow the decor and the music was hilariously random and the staff walked slowly around us and watched us eat it was a bit creepy! I understand why we were pretty much the only ones there. Wasn't really a bad experience actually since it gave me and my friends a laugh - wouldn't go again though wouldn't be as funny the second time I imagine.
