We love browsing at Readings. The staff are friendly without being pushing - they'll always leave us alone, but are so helpful when help is needed!

Readings is great. Convenient location, helpful staff. They are happy to order in a book for you and will call you when in comes in. The have a great selection of pretty stationary goods too (it's hard to come away without something you didn't intend to buy). They have CD's and a cafe too.

Wonderful selection of books and coffee. Just as a bookshop should be, quite the spot for a break... just so much more personal than certain larger chains! (But I go there too) This feels like the ultimate perfect sort of bookshop. Good service too.

A wonderful eclectic bookshop in the old Post Office building. Small, dimly lit isles to browse the many books. Has a cafe at the front. Serves beautiful coffee & has tempting looking pastries.

This bookstore has one of the most luscious displays of books I've seen. The staff are always helpful, and are happy for people to browse without any pressure to buy. The adjoining cafe - Feedings - has lovely coffee and cakes.

I popped into Readings in Port Melbourne to pick up a book for my husband for Christmas and one and a half hours later I left!! No mean feat with a 4 year old and a two year old in tow!!! It is a brilliant store with very helpful and knowledgable staff, a fantastic range of books as well as cds and dvds, and yummy coffee. It's not a huge store but has some really interesting books and the kids section is fabulous. Not just your run-of-the-mill selection but some really beautiful books and craft activities. I had a truly relaxing and enjoyable shopping experience here which is uncommon when shopping with kids. They were entertained with the books and the Thomas the Tank Engine train set that is permanently set up and when we had finished looking at the books, we sat and had cake and I had a coffee and we talked about what books we had been looking at. This is the sort of place you could while away the hours, especially on a rainy day.
