Delicious and reliable ramen! Keep it nice and light with the chicken based broths or go meaner with the tonkotsu (pork base). If you feel like a flavour punch, ask for the one I get most often, the "special", which is a mixture of the pork and chicken broth with a load of garlic flavour and a hint of spiciness. Note, this is different to the other special which seems to have settle on as the fish and pork soup (you will find this on one of the pin up signs on the walls of the restaurant - close to the tv). Do also try the karage or soft shell crab (to share with your ramen), the crab is excellent value. If ramen isn't your thing they also offer Japanese curries, but hey its a ramen house. Since it is winter I also recommend the miso bolognaise ramen, sounds a bit strange but go for it - it is delicious! oh, make sure you go early so you won't be disappointed, on busy (usually) days they will have a cut off point where you will be advised that you will not be able to line up (the earliest I've experienced this was at 745). If you get rejected, try the thai place next door, that place is great too! =)

Went to Ryotei for lunch as my mum and I felt like having ramen. They always have a queue outside the shop everytime we passed by no matter summer or winter. Little cosy shop without air-con so it can get abit stuffy and hot. I always order the shiyo ramen which has abit of everything. We also ordered gyoza and onigiri as well. The size of the bowl of ramen is just right, not too small but is filling. The place is quite clean and the prices for the items on the menu is reasonable. If they don't have a table for you, you might need to sit together with the other customers on the same table sometimes which can abit crowded.

Approximate cost: $14

pretty good noodles, but i think its a bit overhyped. if i hadnt had such high expectations (and had to queue for so long) i probably would have rated it higher. but it is good for traditional homey japanese noodles

My favorite Ramen. This restaurant provide very delicious Ramen. I believe the secret for their noodle is soup. I can always feel their good service and price.

The food was nice, so was the service. Although this shop was really small and I had to sit on a table with random people that I did not know. I also had to wait a while, but the price was good.

This is one of my favourite ramen place in Sydney. A thing that does deter me is due to the size of the shop (which is tiny), the wait is long and you have to share tables with strangers in a crowded space so definitely go early! The soup is lovely (my favourite is #4, #11) but a bit on the salty side. The shop doesn't open on Wednesdays either so must watch out if you do visit. There's limited rice balls available every day but it's not something spectacular so I wouldn't sweat it. But overall, a good homey ramen restaurant.

After reading some of the reviews we decided to dine here. Thanks for previous head ups, we rocked up real early avoided queues.

Ramens looked good presentation wise, nothing too fancy but still looked authentic. Ramen noodle was cooked just right, but then again we rocked up early, I'd go again at a busier time to see how their ramen fares during busy hours.

I usually go for the miso based ramen but did try the soy base like somebody recommended. Soup could have been served a bit hotter, it's something I look for esp during winter.

Didn't notice anything special with their service.

Now I sat there thinking whether I should be giving 3 or 4 stars for their value, because their ramen are slightly cheaper than certain other shop/shops located near where I live, but I couldn't find anything to write home about. (not saying their ramen aren't great, it's just there are so many ramen places nowadays)

Perhaps I should try miso based ramen next time, I thought I would try something new, and may be that had an impact. I would try this place again for sure.

Authentic ramen but not really one of the best in Sydney to me, maybe it's a bit too salty for my liking and the stock isn't thick enough. Service is minimal as expected but the food comes really fast. Love their chicken karaage though with generous dollop of jap mayo. There's always a long queue outside but people eat and go so the wait isn't too long.
Wouldn't go out of my way just to try the ramen but won't mind for a quick winter meal when I'm around North Sydney.

This place is incredible good. I'd still rate this above many ramen stores I've tried in Japan. The queue is definitely long and there are very limited seats, from memory only 24 seats, but it's not the kind of place you sit and chat for hours. If it's your first time, definitely get number 2, the soy flavoured pork stock ramen. I always opt for extra soy eggs, the yolk is still gooey.
Beware, they are usually closed on Wednesdays.
