Since we hadn't been to this restaurant for a while, we decided to go there for lunch last week, expecting the usual delicious food and decent service.

We purposely chose to have a late lunch so as to avoid any rush hour, if applicable. We sat down and were given only the daily lunch special menu. We decided to be more adventurous and therefore asked to have a look at the main a la carte menu - that was a big mistake. The fish was overcooked and did not look fresh as advertised. The crispy roast pork was only average, and hugely over-seasoned. The vegetables were also overcooked and limp, while the seafood dish was hardly deserving of the name as we could only find tiny pieces of seafood, of questionable origin, floating around.

The service was even worse. One of our dishes was the daily special and they forgot to give us the accompanying free can of soft drink. When we asked about that, the waiter did not even apologise, and tried to make us feel like it was our fault for making him mess up the order. One of the more senior staff members appeared busy clearing & setting tables. All the while, there was no pleasure written on his face. We did not even receive a smile - nor, as far as we could tell, did any of the other customers. This made us feel rather uncomfortable as it was plain to see he did not enjoy his job, barely even maintaining a facade of professionalism.

Indeed, this was a trend that extended throughout nearly all the waitstaff (with the exception of one waitress, who seemed a bit more helpful, if timid) - we received no pleasantries at all, not even a thank you on our way out.

We were disappointed to find such a lovely Asian restaurant had deteriorated within such a short space of time. While we would like to support them as they are a local business, we probably wouldn't return unless the service and food quality improve vastly.

The decor is average looking and gives the restaurant a casual feel to it. The staff were all friendly and gave us lots of smiles.

I wasn't sure if the food would be too spicy but it was actually quite tasty without being too hot. Everything tasted good and was served hot. The only downside was that our meals were brought out about 10 minutes apart from each other so my partner was a fair way through his before I started.

Very generous portions - the dishes were quite large and neither myself or my partner could get through them.

Approximate cost: $20

Every dish we ordered tasted as good as it looked. The Hong Kong style prawns are just devine. Service was quick, but it was a very quiet night which helped.

Approximate cost: $17.00

Great value lunch specials here, a meal and drink for only $8.50. Nice bright environment, and the service is pretty good. Takeaway can be a bit slow, depending on what you order - I was left waiting a good 10-15 minutes after my companions had all received their orders. Also, portion size appears to be getting smaller with time. However, the quality of the food is pretty good, authentic Malaysian cuisine.
