This is a big market in Hobart, lots of various things you can find, from vegies to beautiful handcrafts things. There are also many shops sells a locally produced and designed clothes. I bought one dress for my niece which 3 times more expensive than those dress selling in supermarket. I guess the price was for the Australian made. As most of the handcraft things is locally produced and designed, they are pricey. Overall, the market is very entertaining, a good place to have window shopping and may be ended up buying one or two things.

I forgot about the Salamanca market - I'll have to go there next time I'm in Hobart.

A great market and a true Tassie icon. A great variety of locally produced goods, such as fudge (which you can get plenty of free samples), wooden pens, leatherwood honey... the list goes on. The atmosphere is wonderful and the Peruvian music adds a nice touch too. A bit expensive though but well worth it :)

Was a bit reluctant to visit these markets as I thought they would be like all others. Was very pleasantly surprised, great atmosphere, great people & some good bargains to be had. Would visit again if back in Hobart. Great experience!

The Salamanca Market is one of my favourite things to do in Hobart. It is definately a must see for unique handmade goods & beautiful tasmanian produce. Love the organic apples, the Bruny Island cheeses and make sure you visit the Ashbolt stall for beautiful olive oil & salad dressings and elderflower cordial! Highly recommend!

Salamanca market is a great day out, even if you don't end up buying anything. There's always a large range of delicious food, from the fruit and vegetable markets to the lolly and fudge stalls. There's always a ton of interesting things to look at, from the stalls and the buskers, and every now and then you find something unique you wouldn't find other places, I bought my beautiful leavers dinner jewellery there. If you're in the area, the Salamanca markets are a must to go to.

One of the best markets around! Providing goods and services from local business holders, there is so much on offer at these markets that you have to see it all to believe it, there is also some great local produce avaliable and a lot of yummy food for sale.

Salamanca Markets are on every Saturday morning. There is always a huge range of books, clothing, plants, sweets, craft items and lots more. The setting is beautiful and there are buskers to entertain you. There is always a lot of variety, so you will probably want to spend at least 2 hours browsing and there's a huge range of food to choose from, so you might as well stay for lunch :)
