This is my local doctor, I go here when I have the sniffels, but have learnt not to go there if I feel my symptoms could be worse.

My partner went in there soon after returning from overseas due to little rashes coming up, they said he had Golden Staph, withour testing. Then finally 2 months later, he is informed (by one of the more qualified doctors) that he actually had scabies!

My friend went in also, she has suffered from eczema her whole life, and she went in with a round rash, which had gotten worse over time, and ended up on the other leg. She went in a number of times to ask what was happening and they kept telling her it was eczema which had become infected - 12 months later! I told her to go back because it looked more like ring worms - so she did, she saw Dr Tran (also a better Dr) and he confirmed they were ringworms, she's finally cleared up after them cream and antibiotics he gave her have started working.

I went in, with yellowish eyes and tired, they took a blood test and told me I have the same symptoms as someone with AIDS! luckily for me, and thank goodness, I simply had a virus!

My word! To say that you have the symptoms of aids, how awful!

I thought this medical centre was alright, its opening hours are good, and bulk billing is always a bonus. AFTER MY LAST VISIT TO SIA MEDICAL CENTRE I WILL NEVER BE GOING BACK!!! Some of the doctors there might be alright but this last visit was so bad it has put me off ever setting foot in that place again.
I had been experiencing fatigue, vagueness and weakness for over a week. I had been the centre in the previous week and had been told I had a virus and that if I didn't start to feel better to come back for a blood test. I didn't feel better, so had a blood test and was coming back for the results.
First, the doctor comments how I have high cholesterol and without asking me a single question says that I have to start exercising and eating better. I explain that it is hereditary, my Mum has it and I am very healthy, I normally do running training 6 days a week (currently injured) and due to this have to eat very healthily. So he said to start having fish oil; which I currently do and have for many years. Then he explains how if it doesn't improve I will have to go on tablets.
Then I ask so what is wrong with me? He tells me there is nothing wrong with me. Says I couldn't possibly have a virus because my white blood cell count is fine. Says I should see a psychologist and that maybe I'm depressed. I explained how I want to go to work and I want to get up in the morning, and my tiredness is frustrating me. I ask if there are any more tests he can do, and he says no. I am very upset by this stage, as he is pretty much telling me it all in my head.
I book an appointment with a doctor at another medical centre to get a second opinion. I found out that I do not have go on Cholesterol tablets, as I show no risk factors and my good cholesterol is high which offsets my bad cholesterol and as such there is no need for medication. At Sia Medical Centre they hadn't tested my iron, B12 or for glandular fever and it could have easily been any one of these three. It turns out I have iron deficiency. If I had of listened to the doctor at Sia Medical I could have ended up in hospital.

From further testing it turned out I have Coeliac disease which was causing my iron deficiency. Good thing I went to another doctor to get a second opinion.

The wait can be a while and it's always packed, but in general, I've found the doctors here to be helpful. They listen to you, and the practice seems to be run pretty professionally. I'd always suggest making an appointment to minimise the wait time. The adjoining pharmacy is also very convenient!

I had a terrible experience with one of the doctors who told my partner and I that we were pregnant, he told us to come back when we figured out what we were going to do and after we asked what we should and shouldnt do in terms of eating and booking appointments he told us there was nothing we had to do

Quite efficient process. Most of the doctors are helpful. The waiting time could be very long for walk-in patients. One of the reception staff is very mean, others are generally fine.

Able to see doctors in a reasonable amount of time. Bulk bill without an appointment. Quality doctors. Always able to get an appointment. Provide other services like pathology and osteopath and councellors.
