BEWARE! I purchased a “Designer Sample” dress however the dress I received was very different to the advertised photos. The main reason I ended up choosing this particular dress over others was the nice thick straps with curvy pattern. However the straps on the dress I received were completely different to what was advertised. The material was much lower quality and the pattern was very different. I was devastated. When I told Sugar & Spice that the dress was different their response was “When buying wedding dresses it’s a win some/ lose some situation”. I then purchased a 2nd dress from them which had been my 2nd choice. I asked them this time if the actual dress I would receive will be exactly the same as the one in the advertised photos. They assured me yes. However the 2nd dress I received was covered in stains and loose beads!!! I messaged them immediately when I received the dress asking if I could have a slight discount due to the fact that I will now have to pay more money to take the dress to the dry cleaners but they only wrote back very condescending instructions on how to use soap and water to remove the stains myself! I asked if I could return the first dress that was completely different to what was advertised and they told me I could however it would only be a partial refund as they would charge me a $45 restocking fee, I wouldn’t receive the original $62 shipping cost I paid, plus it would cost me $55 to return the dress. That means I would be about $150 out of pocket to return a dress that I NEVER would have purchased if they had have had the actual dress I’d receive in the advertised photos. They left me no option but to contact fair trading. I just got off the phone with the lady from fair trading and she told me that Sugar & Spice told her that all of their “Designer Sample” dresses are preloved and have been worn at weddings before! Apparently this is in their fine print somewhere on their website which covers them from having to refund their customers. So I’m now having to waste even more of my time contacting the Tribunal. There has been dishonesty every step of the way. Be very wary when buying from this company that the dress you receive may not even look anything like the dress advertised, and also that the designer dresses may be used and already worn through a whole wedding. I’m devastated that the first dress I received looked nothing like the dress that was advertised and the 2nd dress I purchased was covered in stains and loose beads. I had a very negative experience with this company.

Went there in March to order and purchase 2 suits for groom and grooms father over $1000 for June wedding in USA and was measured and fitted and brand etc confirmed and given all paperwork, did not want deposit said but told to come back 4 weeks prior to wedding to place order and pay deposit could not have been nicer or more helpful......Went back 4 weeks prior to wedding to finalize order and pay deposit .. all done BUT got a call this week (3 weeks till wedding) we cant get your suits, sorry and no alternative.... you left us in quite a bind now with only 3 weeks and a groom who is 6ft 6in so not off the shelf suits situations, SUGAR AND SPICE YOU SHOULD BE DISGUSTED WITH YOUR STAFF and how you conduct business do you know the situation you have put us in....thank god we did not order the bridal outfit from you if this is how you conduct business.

This shop is lovely, well presented, and full of gorgeous dresses for weddings, formals and after five. Our only disappointment was not one staff member came near us. We got dresses out and tried them on with no assistance at all. When we had found something we wanted to know more about we had to find a staff member and write it down.
The shop does however have one of the nicest ranges, with some things 'just a little bit different'.

Great product but the service was average. One of the staff kept on talking about another bride while we where there to another staff. It does not matter how bad us brides can get at the emotion time of our wedding. Staff should not mock other brides. Such a pitty. Will never go back despite they might have some lovely dresses. Brush on customer service and stop mocking brides when they leave.

Wonderful sales staff at this store. All know exactly what they are doing in measurements and sizes and styles . Took my son here twice to hire formal wear for school. Was overly impressed with knowledge and friendliness. The cost was so reasonable and even hired the shoes. Easy to find ,parking in streets. Son wand i were very happy and they made it so easy

Both my sister and my sister-in-law bought their wedding dresses from this store...the staff were mostly helpful with trying dresses on and they also provided us with multiple styles to try to see which we liked best. All in all a satisfactory experience.

Staff were not very helpful, not the worst bridal store I have been to but as a bigger girl (sz16) they wouldn't offer me much to try on - despite having PLENTY of their ranges in my size. I came in very comfortable clothes (as I knew I would be in and out of dresses all day) and I think they just wrote me off as a nobody which was unfortunate as they lost my business.

The upside, I ended up at their Strathpine store and left with a gorgeous dress that I wore on my wedding day.

The sales team were great and showed me a variety of options that really met my expectations. Although I did not purchase my wedding dress from them, the level of attention to detail was great. They even brought in a sample dress in my size for me when I found a dress I liked that was too large. I would recommend them.

Had a dress fitting with them for my wedding and even though i didn't get any of our bridal gear from them, I did get a gown for a ball from them and was happy enough, nice staff, very obliging and friendly.

These guys really helped me out with a last minute dress, helping me try on gowns and suggesting alternatives for me. Very happy with me experience here.
