The last time I was here I found it to be a little disappointing. My boyfriend ordered the steak and when he received it, it was on the cool side. For a $60+ steak In would expect it to be served hot. When we complained however it was taken off the bill. My fish was delicious
This is so far the best fine dining experience. From the moment you step in the front reception you are greeted with a smiling face. The moment you're ushered to your table you're treated like a VIP. Food is really good and is fresh you will taste it straight away, our waitress is very polite and attentive hard to fault if any. I would recommend this place. Food and staff deserves a 10 star rating if it's available.

A truly special venue! We came here for dinner with some friends to share a memorable night!
The service here is outstanding, with prompt service from our table waiter who was super attentive to us all night.
The food is indeed pricey, but you are not just paying for the food, but the experience of dinning in such an upmarket seafood specialising venue.
The decor and atmosphere was excellent from the earthy dark plates and crockery to the very iconic water/ocean theme of wall paper netting and rope lights to even a depth scale on the glassware! To top it off, there was live music during dinner and some perfect beats downstairs at the Den!
The experience was very good. It is an extremely palatial restaurant. You could very easily get lost in the cavernous surrounds. However, it is not cold and empty. The wait staff are extremely attentive and discrete. No loud showmanship or haughty impudence.
The food is very good too. Elegant and refined. My favourites were the Woodfired Whole Baby Snapper and Olive Oil Confit Ora King Salmon.
Would be good for a dinner date or business event.
this restaurant really is something special. Went for my Birthday, even got a signed card from Donovan (who we could see in the kitchen!). Food simply delicious, service overall was outstanding, however the wine wiater became a little busy by the end of the night and service for drinks dropped off a little, but overall a memorable night and a true food experience.
The Atlantic is a beautiful restaurant. My boyfriend took me here recently for my birthday. The atmosphere is romantic and lovely. The host and waitress were helpful and attentive. For starters, we both shared a plate of oysters. Usually, I enjoy oysters kilpatrick over natural. But not here! The oysters were so fresh, they needed no accompaniments! Absolutely beautiful. For mains, we both had steaks. They were cooked perfectly. After our mains, the waitress brought out a dessert with a candle in it as well as a birthday card, hand written by the manager, wishing me happy birthday. It was such a wonderful touch and I felt very special! Such a lovely place to go, the food, service and atmosphere are all great. Definitely cannot wait to return!
Sounds like a great restaurant, I believe I will be trying it with my family over the holiday break. Thanks for reviewing.
I went there for lunch with a group of people (12people) the food was fantastic and I had the grilled tuna which was cooked perfectly and so the seafood cocktail as a starter... The service was fantastic and I had a very good time there I would . definitely go back again.
Dinner here is a very enjoyable experience. The restaurant is vast, but diners don't really have a sens of it as the acoustics for talking are good. However, although the ambience is nice for a romantic dinner and the view is stunning, it's a little too dark for my own preference. Having said all that, the food and service are excellent. After bread and oil to start, I had a cocktail and my companion had a beer. Our entrees were Wood Fire Grilled Calamari (with wilted cucumber, harissa, dukkah, coriander), which was lovely. The calamari was perfectly cooked, tender, melt in the mouth and the accompaniment was lovely. My companion's Pork Belly was equally good. Mains were a whole Baby Snapper for me, with side of green beans/parmesan and almonds. My companion had a Wagyu Beef Cheek on mash with a Radicchio Salad. Everything was beautiful - a lovely tender cheek, delicious sides too. The dessert for my companion was Strawberry Shortcake - beautifully presented, with macarons, strawberries and icecream. A dessert really sounded lovely, but I had no room for it - Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwich - it really would have been worth a try. Very nice coffee too. My only slight irritation (and again, only a personal preference) is that the waiting staff are a little too "unobtrusive" - to the point where they won't come to wait and take your order, or clear plates, or ask if you'd like enything else, if you're talking - they come by and go away again. So we did wait for longer than necessary for them to do things. Only a slight thing really. It's a lovely place.

thank you for giving such a detailed review of your dining experience. the meals sound absolutely divine! after reading your review, i will keep this place in mind for an upcoming special occasion. Its handy to read reviews where womo member mentions the meals ordered, as it helps me know more about the menu!
Wow, now that's what I call a review, sounds great. My family will definitely be going here during the coming holidays. Thanks for your review, it was great reading it.
If your entertaining the idea of dining here make sure you bring a fat wallet along. As expected for the area is incredibly pricey more so than we anticipated. We came here to celebrate my partners new promotion after being referred by one of his colleagues. Ambiance was nice and intimate and we found our waiter to be very knowledgeable and attentive which is fantastic considering the steep price points on the menu. Our salmon confit arrived fairly quickly and was quite tasty though I wasn't blown away unfortunately. I suppose the $40 cost had me expecting something really spectacular. Overall it's still quite nice for special occasions and we will probably come back again
Came here for a dinner and spent a lot..Would recommend only going once in a blue moon but the one time you go it will be worth it. Had a crab bisque with melon, was something i would of never had but after receiving it i was a great entree. Couldnt decide on whether to have the fresh seafood which was displayed or the meat which i had heard about. Ended up with a lovely piece of fillet steak and it was amazing. One of those places were you order the side separate but a few to choose from. Overall both our meals were what you expect from a restaurant of this quality and a place to defiantly to try once!
Approximate cost: $40
My boyfriend took me here for a lovely romantic dinner. Great atmosphere and professional service. I had the tiger prawns for entree and the salmon for main.. the food is to die for.
Its on the expensive side, but worth it. Definitely one for a special occasion. Highly recommend!
For five star seafood with very high quality service, this place offers it! The seafood here is extremely fresh and carefully cooked to ensure that the natural freshness and flavor of each dish is revealed to its full extent.
Everything here from the seafood to the chips, salads and other items all showcase the freshness and flavor. The salmon and tun sashimi style dish were as a fishmonger would say - no smell and more like mineral water than fishy - clean, clear and crisp. The flavor of the prawns left you knowing that they weren't defrosted from some long cold slumber and you could taste prawns as prawns with a crisp, springy texture.
Service is non invasive - the waiters/waitresses are there when you need them, otherwise you're just left to enjoy your time there and there's no pressure if you wanted to spend the afternoon there!
The letdown of the place is the price of some dishes - ranging from around $30 to several hundred depending on what you're after, we sometimes felt that there could be slightly better value at other places, but overall this does not detract from the experience.
Note, you come to this place for seafood, you don't come here for anything else. Whilst there are non seafood offerings, that is not what the place is about, it's all about the seafood!
Highly recommended.

one of the premium restaurants in melbourne located at southbank side of crown casino...it has spectacular view and nice atmosphere...waiter's service is reasonably good...liked dessert (fig cake i had last time), but they can do much better with main meal that costs approx. $45...my beef shnitzell wasn't the best in the world, not jucy and properly fried (for this price)...it costs around $150 for full course dinner per person(including salad and potato ) which we didn't know at the time, but later on decided to stay because of spectacular view...once was enough for me...
My husband took me to the Atlantic last night for my birthday.
The service was outstanding, as expected and the girl was new!
We ordered th baby octopus and scallops starter which was Devine.
I had baby snapper and hubby had barramundi. Both fish tasted so fresh and the mashed potato we ordered as a side was the best mashed potato I've ever eaten.
Prices were a little expensive, but we already knew that they would be before we opened the menu.
I'd recommend this place to everybody.

if you love sea food then this is the place to come, great service and atmosphere, although prices are a little steep i dont think its a place i can come to on a regular basis but for a special occasion its perfect
Went there for business lunch with our company's business partner who kept raving about this place. The service was first class, as expected. Prices were pretty steep but then again I wasn't the one paying so not really concerend about that. We all shared the seafood platter as entree and also ordered some extra fresh oysters. For main I ordered fish of the day, it was fresh and the garlic chilli sauce was light and complimented the fish. for some reason my colleague decided to order steak and she was very disappointed with it. I had to laught at her whinging, why in the first place would she order a steak at a seafood place.
Great atmosphere...
Good location and decor...
Food: I had the seafood cocktail and butternut risotto.. it was good.. decent food!
