What a nice little secret that's tucked well into the hillside.
Not somewhere you'd come if you didn't know where it was.
But it's full of vibrancy and the food is good.

My husband had a day off work and it was a cold winters day so we decided to have lunch here as it had been while. They had the fire nicely burning which was warming and cosy. The menu was extensive as was the wine list, prices fairly reasonable compared to others nearby.

Our meals were quite delicious, I really like their garlic and parmesan bread as a starter. Fish and chips and squid were to our liking.

Staff were great, meals excellent, great place to go for a meal on a winters day.

Had a very nice lunch here at The Duck Inn. Nice fire going in a warm setting. Friendly waiting staff who attended promptly. The steak was well cooked just the way I like it. Sometime since I had been here and I still enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere. In summer seating is also available on the large verandah.

It has been a while since dining here, might be time to try again

I have enjoyed many meals here with my wife and friends over the past 10 years. However, our most recent encounter was a little disappointing as our meals were not of the usual quality and the serving size had been reduced. We were hoping that it was a one time occasion and will be returning in the new year. The atmosphere has always been relaxing with very friendly staff.

Had nice lunch here with friends on the weekend. Seating inside and outside which is serviced well. A very good interesting menu. Calamari etc was my choice. Some menu items are half price at lunch time but you do have to mention you require the half price special. However the meals are normal size. Another good place with a well priced meal. Have eaten here before and sometimes there is a wait for your meal.

It had been many years since my husband and I had been here, but whilst out visiting friends we decided to drop in after seeing they had a 1/2 price lunch menu. I do not know why they call it a lunchtime 1/2 price menu because out of the whole menu (about 40 meals) there is only 6 that you can actually have at half price, out of which did not really interest us. Also, I didn't like having to pay extra for toppings and sauces which were from $3 - $7.50. We ordered a garlic and chive baguette which was really tasty. We decided that instead of a main meal each we would just order some Tapas. The trio of dips with toasted pita bread was great as well as the hot and spicy chicken drumsticks - Yes they were hot and spicy - so be warned! We also had some prawns with chilli jam - Yummo!
Overall, we enjoyed our Tapas, received friendly service and a really pleasant atmosphere. I think it would be great in winter with the oven fire place.
But don't be misled by the 1/2 price menu.

Approximate cost: $From $18

I have been here several times over the past decade. It has always been -and still is - a cosy little pub with a warm atmosphere. However, I feel like the quality of the service and particularly the value has deteriorated.

For example, the half price lunch special used to be great value and a big draw-card. Now, there are only 4 main courses that are included in the half price deal. It does not include any steaks or even schnitzels!

In addition, I find it odd that you have to pay $3-$6 dollars extra for sauces (e.g., pepper sauce, dianne, parmigiana) on top of the main 'food' cost.

Overall, an average but warm little pub that I hope will improve in the future.

Approximate cost: $20-$35

This is like an old English country pub and in winter they have a big open fire. I visited once with my husband, uncle and auntie and they had a live band/singer on which was really nice. The food was your normal pub style food but tasted nice and was good value. I would go again especially in winter :)

This is a regular haunt for me and a friend on our favourite table in front of the open fire. The service is usually good and since the new chef arrived, the menu and food quality has vastly improved. It went from being one of the worst chicken schnitzels to one of the best along with many other options on the menu. Had the snapper special last time which was really delicious.

After a bad dining experience here just over 12 months ago we decided to try again. Saturday lunch and there were more staff than customers, but still had to wait to be served. The quality of the food is the only thing which has improved. Size of meals were inadequate considering the price and what was ordered. No bread or rolls were offered. The staff were more interested in their private conversations than serving.

Approximate cost: $20 - $25
