What is great about this place is that it has lots of rooms. So if you book, and have enough people to fill it, I imagine you can have a nice quiet room away from the noisy main, front room.
The service is good, friendly and attentive.
You can walk in on street level from the highway, but there are a lot of steps inside, including the way to what looks like the only toilet. There is a car park at the rear, accessed by a lane off Warrandyte Rd which is used by Officeworks customers also.
The food is high quality and there is a lot to choose from. If you go at 11.00am you get to choose from the breakfast menu AND the lunch menu, to increase your choices.
The coffee was brilliant, but I thought the food was overpriced.
If you choose well, you could get out without having taken a loan to pay for it.
Having said that, everyone in our group enjoyed what they had.

I had heard people rave about The Firehouse brownies but dismissed this as most brownies in cafes/restaurants are fairly average. I was so wrong... Served with ice-cream and a salted caramel sauce, they should be listed as an addictive substance! All-round great service and delicious food: I'm definitely going back.

Valentine's dinner $80 set menu included glass of bubbly/beer, housemade nibbles, entree, main, dessert platter, tea/coffee and macarrons. Whole meal was superb, staff friendly, upstairs room more intimate than downstairs.

I've been here previously, and the place has changed significantly since our last visit.

Firstly, the service remains top-notch. No problems there. The staff are great, and if service is important to you, then this place definitely has that aspect well covered.

Two things we noticed about the food however... firstly, when viewing the menu, we noted that the prices had risen since our previous visit. That was frustrating. Then, upon arrival of our meals, we noted that the serving-size has decreased dramatically. In the past, you'd leave here with a full tummy, but I left hungry this time.

The food itself and the service are good, quality wise. It's just the cost and portion-size which was highly disappointing this time around.

We went for breakfast.

Approximate cost: $20.00

Almost in two minds about posting this. I love this place and want to keep it to myself! I can't believe it has taken me so long to discover it. Food is beautiful, service is exceptional, ambiance perfect. Gorgeous place. Love it!

Took a group of friends here for a celebration and was blown away. The food was delicious (as always), the staff were friendly, attentive, knowledgeable about the wines and very efficient. Many of my friends had not heard about this restaurant before, even though they all live in the area, but they will certainly be returning! The venue itself is wonderful, but the staff, food and wine selection are what make dining in this restaurant a most enjoyable experience. 10 out of 10!

Love this place! This is where I would go for a special occasion, rather than just a dinner out, as the meals are definitely more pricey than other places nearby, but the ambience is fabulous and the service impeccable. The food is divine and the after-dinner cocktails in the cosy, funky lounge upstairs are knockouts! Be sure to book in advance.

We had dinner here, and none of the mains were appealing at all - ew! There were hardly any nice tapas either, especially if you dont want to eat red meat or seafood. They forgot one of my tapas which they only brought out once I reminded them, but who wants to be brought out cob bread at the end of a meal once everyone has finished. Wouldn't go back sorry!

I have had work meetings here and brunches and lunches with friends. I have found getting a table difficult at times but the staff kept us up to date on the wait time.
The food is delicious and fresh and there are options to share tapas plates and the staff are willing to assist in finding a suitable dish. The great leather armchairs are perfect for a quiet coffee with the paper and the tables are in a very light and airy space. The chairs can be a little uncomfortable after a long session but dining here for me has been a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

Approximate cost: $15-25
