The meals here are insane! The portions are massive and will definitely fill you up. Will definitely go back again. Had to wait a while to get a table, though because the place was packed. I would love to try to dessert here one day if I'm not to full after lunch - they look so yummy

After reading the previous reviews from WOMOW, i finally went to the Hahndorf yesterday, and become the customer of The Hahndorf Inn, i totally agree with others, the German style food here are outstandingly delicious, the German beers are unique and tasty, the staff are nice, polite and the price is reasonable too, we ordered the German Platter, which was enough for two of us with German grills, Pork Hock and with few selection of German sausages too, and we love the environment there as well, we will certainly go there regularly.

With good prices, a hearty, true German style set of meals it is always a pleaser for the lads. My favorite is a Parmi Schnitzel. All meals or big, cheap and everything a pub goer needs

My partner and I had a platter that served 2 people and a wheat beer each, the steak was cooked to perfection as was the rest of the platter, the ribs were succulent, they just melted in your mouth. The staff were curteous, polite, professional and the food was served at the right temperature and we werent waiting around for very long to be served, the dining room/bar was tidy, the fireplace was going which gave a wonderful warm ambience to the stone and hardwood structure of the building. Definately will dine there again.

The big German Grill was enough for both my husband and I, plus they let us take home the leftovers! There's a good selection of German beers (and enormous glasses!) and the atmosphere is great - lovely open fires and lots of history. We couldn't eat such rich German food all the time, but we'll certainly come back again sometime!

the best German food in the country, we took a German friend of ours from sydney and even she liked it. we've taken every visitor to SA and they've all loved it, and excellent value for money, the best is one of their mixed platters, gives you the chance to taste different types of German sausages and the pork is to die for

Great chicken and my husband always goes the German mixed grill... cant beat it he says. We travel 3/4 hour for a meal here and it's worth it. the service once was a little slow but overall quite good, friendly and they know their product.

Approximate cost: $20

the food was big, the beer was big, the atmosphere was big, it was the best, we had the ribs and it was 1kg of ribs and the sauce was on the side so you actually got 1 kg of ribs, not akg of sauce, it was great
