A beautiful experience.
The 8 course degustation with matching wines did not disappoint. Delicious and full of flavour, every course had a warming and inviting backstory, and the techniques were executed perfectly. The flavours married across the whole evening, and the wines were matched perfectly. Staff were attentive and friendly. The restaurant is small, so it all seems very hush hush, but this made it also feel quite personable. Worth the cost for special occasions.

Great reputation as the owner is George from masterchef, I was really suprised with how good the food was and the final bill I received. The seating was great, service brilliant and I have paid much higher rates for not so nice meals before. Will be back for sure

The Press club has undergone a dramatic renovation. The interior is now all polished and shiny surfaces in cream and gold. The floor/table layout and furniture, with the side banquettes, shallow booths seating upwards from 4 to 10 people etc, reminds me of being on a private jet or ocean liner.
Aesthetics aside, the service is impeccable (as you would expect from the segment of the market that the restaurant is marketing itself to).
The menu was good too. Clever and interesting dishes executed well.
The only detractor from a generally good experience, was the pricing/serving/food. This restaurant is playing high stakes right at the pinnacle of the market. This means it is not enough to do things well, it must do things exceptionally, and feed its patrons and 'wow' them. There was some pizzaz missing and I was actually a little hungry afterwards (despite being a small eater generally).

Wow, this really is one of the best, we paid approx $170 each for the degustation menu, including the Waygu beef and we were not disappointed with the superb food, friendly attentive service, relaxed but sophisticated atmosphere (you can dress up here) and ultimately, the value for money for such a special dining experience. Highly recommend, particularly for a special occassion.

we chose the kerasma menu- a little taste of many things.
The food was superb, so tasty. The staff were very attentive, it was my birthday and the staff went out of their way to make our experience special. the timing of the courses was great, not too rushed. Lots of little touches and attention to detail completed our meal. A great place for a special occaision, I would definately recommend The Press Club. I can't wait to go back!

3 of us decided to go here as a night out when we were in Melbourne. Wow the food was amazing! The staff were friendly and helpful. We ordered entrees and mains and there was not one meal we had that we didn't love. The menu is regularly changing as well so there is always something new to try on the menu. If you go in expecting the prices of around $50 a main you will not be dissappointed. For a fine dining restaurant the meal sizes are actually a good size.

A wonderful dining experience unfortunately the service was not quite up to scratch as other restaurants of it's calibre food, atmosphere, comfort level was all above average. I recommend coming her for a special occasion such as a birthday and having the 5 or 8 course degustation It's in the city but there is a car park right next door to the restaurnant so parking isn't an issue.

Overall press club does not delivery to the hype. Rack of lamb is is around $55 - for a slice or lamb very disappointing. Lamb souvlaki - raw meat. Service is very good - gees price are very high for what you receive. Otherwise restaurants give you more at a lower price

Eating here is a culinary delight as you get to experience textures and tastes you haven't had before. The waiters explain the story of each dish before it is served and it does seem a little cheesy and over the top at times that I find myself chuckling on the inside. Amazing food, dim lights, romantic. The desert is amazing! Although in saying that our waiter placed a tray of what looked like dirt, he the sprinkled rose essence on the dirt whilst explaining the story of Aphrodite and how the desert represented her.. All I thinking was how I was supposed to eat the aromatic rose dirt! Luckily it was just part of the experience of lifting the senses of smell and he took it away and brought out our actual dessert. The dessert was unlike anything I have eaten in my life with edible flowers, ice cream, ganache and other bits I cannot even explain to you.

An amazing experience, with beautiful food. The freshest of produce are used to compose perfect dishes. What really appealed to me was all the different textures that were used to create every specific meal. A really nice night, and the service was fantastic - very attentive waitstaff.

I haven't really dined Greek before going to the press club, so I did not have very high expectations. I was pleasantly amazed by the scrumptious food I was presented with. The busy atmosphere just conveys how much this restaurant is liked!

The Press Club has had plenty of accolades, and so my expectations were very high. The food is certainly of fine quality, and very tasty and it is great to see Greek food get the fine dining treatment. The service is efficient and friendly. However I found the presentation of the food to be rather gimmicky and somewhat pretentious-for example a very nice but fairly unexotic eggplant dish was presented in a pickling jar rather than on a plate. The seating arrangements were also a bit disappointing. We were so close to the table next to us that it was difficult to have a private conversation, and when the waitress squeezed in between the two tables to serve our neighbors, her derriere was perilously close to the food on our table. The prices were quite reasonable by fine dining standards, but expensive when compared to your local Greek Bistro.
