20 reviews about The Tea Room QVB

i love coming here and it is always satisfactory. The best thing about it is the atmosphere and decor. The service is better than most places with staff being attentive. Everything else is as expected with you paying for the location of being in the QVB and the experience. The food is good but not spectacular and the value is good but not spectacular. That said I will still be coming here once a month with the girls because we all love it!!

Hi Yuliag, thanks for such an encouraging review. Sounds lovely. Reeces

We were invited to a wedding reception here and the food and service were amazing. They did such a great job all night. The desert was to die for......yum! I'd like to try and go there for afternoon tea next time I'm in Sydney.

Very nice atmosphere- but thats about it..HIGHLY overpriced, tiny little servings of food that wouldnt even feed a mouse!! The tea was discusting-real leaves in the pot with hardly any water so its super strong and lucky to give you 1 cups worth. The cocktail was way too strong and tiny as well...I wont be going back in a hurry!

Approximate cost: $53.00

Typei just want to comment on the size of the tea, every time I go I get two cups of tea and they alwaysxadd hot water to you pot to make sure you have more than enough. I think I had 5 yesterday! Real tea is done with tea leaves.

Hi Anonymous, while we appreciate your input, it is evident you are not an avid tea drinker, as any connoisseur would be aware (as JanelleJ had previously mentioned) that high quality tea comes from ‘real’ tea leaves and or tea balls/flowers, etc and not from a tea bag. After all, the history behind an authentic High Tea is to provide delicate, bite sized morsels, not a farmer’s luncheon. By the same token, a (small) cocktail will often be stronger in alcohol content, so you only need consume the one. Larger (diluted) serves can be purchased from the local pub. Reeces

I've been here a couple of times and they've always had a good amount of tea in the pot and I thought there was plenty of food - I guess that's becuase I have a small stomach

This place has such a great ambience, very decadent and should be saved for special occasions as it is quite priccy! However, you really get what you pay for as the service is exceptional and the food is so cute and lovely. They have a great selection of teas but you only get about two tea cup worths out of one pot. Don't forget to book in advance!

Approximate cost: $35

When I'm in the city with friends I go for cosy high tea in the armchairs. The atmosphere and location is astounding, it's in what used to be a grand ballroom of the QVB. The scones and exotic teas are exceptional. Only downside was it's a little pricy, and for some reason the toilets are at the end of a 20m hallway. :)

Approximate cost: $40

Exceptional service. I went there for the high tea and they provided excellent tea along with a tray of various sandwiches, cakes and other tidbits. Fantastic atmosphere.

Approximate cost: $35
