20 reviews about The Tea Room QVB

I had huge expectations when I was having high tea with my friends. My friends and I decided to order the afternoon tea, everything arrived in a timely manner, but they forgot to bring our cream and jam for the scones. The cakes and macaron were nice. The sandwiches were pretty average. The tea was not bad. The service was attentive and polite. I hated where I sat because the sun was constantly in my face. Overall I thought this High Tea was average, not as good as other places that I have eaten at. Perhaps they just had an off day, because I heard they are usually really good.

Nice place, but very pricey for some sandwiches and little desserts. maybe nice for others but I prefer a burger and a bottle of juice. The service there was alright but the staff seemed pompous to me. Not the place for me, but up to every individual at the end of the day.

Honestly, the only stand-out part of our high tea in the QVB was the fact we were in an old, impressive part of the QVB. The tea selection may have been different but only one type of tea was included (per person). The food selection was standard for high tea and was not even visually stimulating. We were a group of about 20 and nobody was taken by the food enough to actually finish the meagre selection presented on the fancy servingware. Massive scones doled out around the table (I got the impression it was all-you-could eat scones) were obviously brought into play to fill us up.

One was not impressed (hehe).

Go to the tea rooms for a special occasion, maybe. Dress up and make the most of it but don't expect the feed itself to be any better than a high tea much closer to home.

This is one of the best High Tea places I've been to. The food is delicious, and the tea menu is one of the best. Service is always great, and it has a real nice feel to the place. Towards the end we did feel a little rushed to leave, but otherwise it was morning! Scones are by far the best I've had!

This is the best place for high tea in Sydney. I have been here at least 10 times, and have never had a bad experience. The food is delicious and the tea is very nice. The room is beautiful and has a very old world feel. The service is very good as well.

This is one of the best High Tea places in Sydney. The beautifully decorated room combined with delicate China plates are a perfect environment for a girls day out. Even though the portions of the food are very small, I've been here twice and both times I couldn't finish the food. Reason being, the scones are so filling! There is a decent selection of teas and a huge range of sweets. The price is fairly expensive, but I think it's definitely worth going once in a while.

Hi Panda92, thanks for the heads-up! Reeces

We organised a ball of 100 people in the team room and we did not regret it. Yummy 3 courses diner assis ( especially a yummy brownie in a tarte sell and chocolate sauce) (also the main - meat with puree was awesome) . That is without mentioning the feel that the room brings and the close distance to townhall station

This is the best high tea place I have ever tried, I tried a lot of high tea in Sydney, but the tea room is the most classic and elegant no matter the plate or environment. The food is even more than other places. There are a lots of tea to select, and taste good. I have been to there twice, both are satisfied as I expect.

Approximate cost: $39

Very good, luxurious tea and coffee served by excellent waiters donned in perfectly groomed uniforms. The atmosphere radiates class and excellence. Wondrous experience.
