Only one gluten free option - green vegetables! Everyone else enjoyed it, but not not good for coeliacs so my sister just had the vegies. Also, the bill is written in chinese - so goodness knows what you're being charged for!

This hole in the wall, cramped little restaurant serves authentic chinese and it is amazing. No wonder you have to line up to get in! The iconic broadbean and bean curd dish is amazing, and salt and pepper eggplant delish! Red pepper beef was also great, as was the chicken dish (can't remember what it was). Fried rice was a bit bland, but not too great a disappointment. Amazing prices and service, whilst not overly friendly, is quick and efficient. Will continue to go back over and over and over again.

This chinese restaurant sounds like a great place to try, it certainly is on our must try list. Thanks for reviewing.

We went here a week ago while in Adelaide . Surprised YES fantastic food was very very busy our orders took a while to come one in particular but as soon as we spoke up it was on table. The cost for this meal and there was four of us was only $80 and that's with drinks . We really enjoyed the busy cafe style and loved our food certainly would go back again and again . Highly recommend the E shan prawns was spicy but not hot. Also had a very good vegetarian range .

Approximate cost: $15.00

Went to Ying Chow on Friday night, it was quite busy. Friend recommended E-shan chicken, it tasted amazing. We ordered Beiking Duck to share, that was nice too. The service was fantastic, everyone was so friendly. We ordered drinks with it too and spent less then $40.

Approximate cost: $17

Dined here in a group of 4 on a week night. We were lucky to get seats because we did not have a booking. After waiting around for about 10 minutes we were shown to our seats. While the service is nothing deserving mention, the food is spectacular. Decent menu with very reasonable prices for authentic chinese cuisine. Would recommend booking ahead if planning to enjoy a scrumptious dinner here as it is a small restaurant.

'Yinga's' is a bit of an Adelaide institution.
Food is fantastic!!!!! It really is.

The restaurant has a vibrant positive atmosphere and it is a great spot for a shared meal with friends.

Service is not great.....just a bit 'meh' as opposed to bad or rude but I find it doesn't really impact on the experience.

You will often need to wait for a table as it is a small spot and always busy but it's worth it.
Don't even think about trying to fit a pusher inside though. However there are outside tables if the weather is kind.

Great spot to eat if heading out for a show or combined with a Central Market shop.

Approximate cost: $15-$20

First off, let me just say, I've had friends book their birthdays here and it's gone ok, and I've had others, including myself, book events here and it's gone down like a lead balloon because ying chow doesn't really need the custom and they don't put a lot of effort into the experience, so you could end up in the worst possible table feeling awkward as hell.

But if you are after a great dinner, amazing food, pretty decent atmosphere, and some pretty average customer service, with a group of 6 or less, then Ying Chow will hit the spot!
I love the chicken mushroom claypot or seafood claypot, the garlic prawns, the bbc, the red pepper anything or eshand anything, even though the heat is usually too much (I'll cope when the food is this good!!) And in winter, the regional dumplings in soup and in summer, the cold Su rolls.

I love love love ying chow food so much. And the prices are great too. I recommend sharing some dishes and some wine!

Approximate cost: $20-30 per person for a lot of food and drinks!

I was recommended this place by the great staff at my serviced apartments, I had been to a couple of Chinese reastaurants in Gougar Street as its Chinese or a steakhouse for me. This is one of the very best authentic Asian restaurants within Adelaide - Ying Chow is best out of all of them. I enjoyed every thing a tried and every plate was amazing, very fresh, amazingly tasty and reasonably priced. If it is a romantice larger place you are after, then this is not the place for you. This is a cosy, small space filled with people which is a sign of its popularity, a tight sqeeze but its worth it for the great food

Approximate cost: $18.00
