This is one of my favourite yum cha places, which I think it's one of the best places in terms of Chinese dining and yum cha in town. Waiting time is horrendous on weekends, but the wide range of dim sum on offers makes the wait worthwhile each time I go. Love: shark fin (artificial maybe) dumplings soup; beef rice noodles, pig blood, tripe, custard tart!

Very busy restaurant so we had to wait for 15 minutes for our table. Once inside it was really busy. As we had corner table, we did not get much attention in the beginning but once food started coming we like the food. One of the person came and ask if we want hot green tea and I said yes and it was biggest mistake because it cost us $10. Seriously overpriced for tea as most Chinese restaurant give green tea for free. Rest is ok. My favourite is mango pancake.

One of my favourite places for Yum Cha whilst in the city. We try and come every few weeks if time permits, during the weekdays as weekends are too hectic and busy, overflowing with people and I hate waiting for ages for a table. So it was a welcome change, only 15 minutes to be seated.

We always order har gao ( prawn dumplings) - both my kids faves, sui mai ( pork dim sim), harm siu gok ( pork fried dumplings), har fun ( prawn noodles), pork and chive dumplings, egg custard tarts etc. Lots of delicious bite sized morsels to choose from.

Service was quick today, with the trolleys having alot of food on offer and the dessert trolley was full this time, which made for two happy kids and a Happy Mum!

Good place to eat yumcha! One of my favorite yumcha place around Sydney that's close to CBD. They have more variety than other Chinese place that serve yumcha. They have big area so waiting time is quick if you forgot to book your table. Though I recommend to bookings as it get really busy. Do not leave the place without trying their Mango pancake. One of the best.Love to go again with my family and friends.

This is the top yum cha place I would suggest in sydney. In fact, we sometimes go there for group lunch. The food is quite traditional and yummy.
I particularly like the deep fried prawn roll with the mayo and wasabi, also the steam prawn/ bbq pork roll. mango pudding and mango pancake is good too.
However, this is not a place that you can expect good service, as it is always so crowded. Remember to book a table, otherwise you might ended up waiting for an hour before sitted.

Went for Yum cha many times in this place. Every time we have to wait for the queue for at least 40 minutes. But it worthwhile.
Their chicken feet is a must try, I mean for those brave one only. It so tasty that I can finish three plates by myself.
Price wise they are not very cheap but still quite reasonable.

Been here many times for lunch and they are pretty good. Price is reasonable for the quality. I attended a wedding for the first time here recently. The orange juice was not cold and the chinese tea was not hot. The wait staff was not well groomed. Service was ok and food quality is average. Really leaves a lot to be desired.

Went there during Chinese New Year period so naturally it was packed. We tried yum cha and dinner. Food was good but seating arrangement was not so great. It was really cramped especially with 2 young kids, we had little room and had no where to put our pram next to our table.

Yum cha was ok, so we decided to go back for dinner. Food was great! Really enjoyed the dinner BUT my oh my what a bad experience we had. There were so many people there that night and full of people but that wasnt the problem.

I started to smell cigarette smoke and thought I was just being silly. The stench got worse & worse so I went to investigate. People behind the curtains and partition were smoking!!!! In a restaurant!!! Smokiing!!! So naturally I complained as the waiters were serving them didnt say anything. I went to the front desk and complained and the hostess claimed she was going to talk to them. Waited 10 mins, the stench was getting worse. Nothing changed, more people lit up and smoked. Then people on the other side started smoking too. So I went and complained more! The waiter said they were going to stop them but the patrons did not stop smoking. They do realise that it is illegal to smoke indoors. Despite complaining, nothing was done. Extremely upset and annoyed as I had 2 very young children passive smoking in the restaurant. Instead of fixing the problem they gave us 10% discount on the bill.

It does not matter how nice the food is. I am NEVER going back! I will be definitely reporting them to the relevant authorities!

I really enjoy my dining experiences at Zilver- a lovely atmosphere and delicious food. At lunch time however, the lines can become appallingly long and the wait just too long. I suggest coming here just before the standard noon lunch so the line is a lot shorter! The service is average but when we go there with a friend of ours who knows the owner, we always get so many dishes coming our way and the quickest service! Generally though they are really nice and will get what you request for in a relatively short period of time.

I have been here on two occassions for yum cha and the food was pretty average, the prices were average however the service is appaling! Most recently we went for a birthday lunch, there was about 20 of us dining at one large table up the back of the resaurant. We ordered a selection of dishes, there wasn't terribly much for a vegetarian (however this is the case with most yum cha establishment) but we racked up quite the bill! Trying to ask for service is scary, you don't know what the waiting will be like. We asked for some additional chilli on our table and the waiter said no because we had two dishes already. We said that we were still eating and would require more and he still wouldnt bring any! I don't think I heard one person say thank you when we paid or thanked us for our business. I think because Yum CHa is popular in sydney and everywhere you go there seems to be a line so this must equate to no effort made with service because they dont see the need. the customers will come anyway. Well I will never go to Zilver again by choice and will reccomend others if asked.

Approximate cost: $30

There's a lot of hype about Zilver. When you walk in there are heaps of photos of celebrities, politicians, athletes who have dined here. My experience was pretty average. The food tastes great but the service was pretty lousy. The male waiters look very stressed and when they see you're signaling to them, they often nod at you and just come back a few minutes later. A smile would greatly improve the service. As for value, I came here with a group of five and we managed to spend just under $20pp. Overall Zilver has fantastic atmosphere, tasty food and below average service. The prices are very affordable and I would come back but not on a regular basis.

Zilver Chinese Restaurant is one of my favourite place for yum-cha. The food is always guaranteed to be delicious. The spinach dumplings and Siu-Mai are my favourite dishes. The prawns are very fresh and crunchy and I love the tofu sweet soup as dessert. The place is very convenient so it is my friends' gathering place for catching up. Hot tea is served immediately once you sat down and little carts of dim-sims surrounded you in no time. Each of the dim-sim dish usually contains 4 pieces so it is great to share, thus we can order more different dishes. We usually spent around $18-20 per head and are very full and satisfied. Customer service is great too!

We held our Wedding Reception at Zilver Chinese Restaurant. We had 20 tables altogether. The reception banquet menu was great, consisting of 13-courses which were all very delicious and all my guests were full on the night. They have a few different banquets to choose from. The wait staff serving our tables were exceptionally good, serving all dishes, alcohols and drinks on requests. My favourite dish was the braised lobster in soup and the shark fin soup. A jar of coke and orange juice were also provided for free for each table. It was Chinese mid-autumn fesitival that night and they gave is mini-mooncake as desserts. They have different colour of table cloths and napkins for us to choose from which was great, but the chair covers only got the choice of either gold or red. The dance floor is huge as well. One thing I don't quite like is the bridal changing room is too small and abit messy. There wasn't enough space for us to put our dresses etc. Parking is only $3 provided you park and enter the Market City car park after 5pm and get the ticket validated by the Zilver Restaurant. We had a very enjoyable evening, the reception was a success - thanks to Zilver Chinese Restaurant!

A highly recommended yum cha in Chinatown - a little on the side (within this strange shopping center) but really worth it. Sometimes the wait/queue is a little long, but the food is always really tasty. I'd say that the food is a little bit on the oilier side here, but it seems fresher/high quality.

We went for a 9 course Yum Cha banquet on Monday lunchtime. The food was enjoyable & different to what one gets in the usual Chinese restaurants. Our only complaint was that the dishes were brought too quickly to the table & left & even though we are fast eaters they were cold by the time we got to eat them.30 minutes to eat 9 courses & drink a pot of green tea! Not bad going if I say so myself! The staff were so serious that not one cracked a smile. Also a bit hard to find.Perhaps a sign outside would not go amiss.

The wait for Yumcha was horrendous. The decor is old and the chairs are shabby and the floor space is huge. The food is just good and the price is reasonable as well. The service is as any Yumcha place... not great but then again, that's pretty normal.

We used to always go to Zilver for yumcha because there seems to be more varieties of dishes than other yumcha restaurants around the area. One very unpleasant experience i had at this restaurant was that they have given me the change in coins. They were like >5 bucks and it was all silver coins (mostly 50cents). I don't know whether they did it intentionally or they just don't have 5 dollar note or any gold coins at all !?

This *HUGE* Chinese restaurant is still one of the best choices for Yum Cha in the city. Even though it seats about 600 people, you will need to get there well before 12 on the weekends to avoid having to queue. The staff are reasonably helpful, so if you like your yum cha experience to include typically rude waiters and rowdy, impatient customers you might be disappointed! The choice of yum cha dishes is staggering and the quality is generally pretty high.
I am very disappointed though that they, like many Chinese restaurants in Sydney serve SHARKS FIN. What will it take to get this totally unsustainable and completely overrated product off our Chinese menus?

Best yum cha in Sydney!!! Just head there early, before 12pm (11am on weekends) before the crowd gets there or you'll have to wait for a while. The food selection are great with an edge over the other yum cha restaurants around. The chefs are innovative as every time I visit there seems to be a new dish on the trolleys.
