Perry's is a great local source for take-away pizza, and there are also a few tables if you want to eat-in. The pizzas are freshly made to order and cooked in a wood-fired oven by Perry himself, who has been knocking them out for almost 25 years! The pizzas themselves are very cheesy (sort of a double layer of cheese, between which the other ingredients are encased), which makes for a very rich and indulgent dining experience, although probably not the best choice for the very health conscious! Other dishes including salads and a range of desserts are also available - the tiramisu is excellent.
Approximate cost: $18
We frequently visit Esca for weekend brunch and have also eaten evening meals here and ordered take-away pizza.
The standard of food and drink is always good and the pizzas are excellent, made with fresh ingredients and a very convenient take-away option if you live nearby.
The AB is a good place to stop in for a drink and they also have some interesting menu options.
The environment is smart and service is relaxed and friendly.
Foxtel is available and all the major sports events are shown live.
The Different Drummer is a cozy place for a cocktail. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and the atmosphere conducive to civilized supping.
Happy hour is a real winner here (especially as it lasts for an hour and a half!) and the nibbles on offer are also good.
Galluzzo's sells fresh fruit and vegetables of very good quality at reasonable prices.
It offers a convenient local alternative to the supermarkets at Broadway and the produce is often of superior quality and lower cost.
Cafe Bariloche is a lovely, efficient cafe run by a friendly husband and wife team.
The coffee is good and the outstanding pies, pastries and cakes are made and baked on-site - strong self discipline is required!
Simple, reasonably priced food done well.
We tend to go to the Toxteth for gatherings with friends as food and drink options are good and the environment is child-friendly.
Staff are helpful and service is relaxed; with the kids in tow staff members have often rustled up complementary ice lollies at the end of the meal, which are popular!
Good meal deals on weeknight evenings, too.
Consistently outstanding fish (plus other seafood) and chips.
I am a regular customer of Fish on Fire. As something of a connoisseur of chippies across Sydney (and, indeed, worldwide!) I consider Fish on Fire to be up there with the very best.
The seafood is consistently of the highest quality, being both extremely fresh and expertly prepared; the chips are very, very good and I've never been served a duff batch.
Service is friendly and efficient.
Outstanding.
Delicious, authentic Thai food at very reasonable prices.
We regularly eat at TYTG and also buy food to take-away.
The restaurant has a lively, generally pleasant and enjoyable atmosphere. It is often quite busy and occasionally the order/payment/collection area can get a bit hectic, but the staff are always helpful and keen to please.
Excellent food and outstanding value for money.
Glebe Point Diner serves food of the highest quality in a smart yet relaxed environment.
Towards the more expensive end of the restaurant range, I think of it as a location to celebrate special occasions rather than a regular dining location, but the high quality of the food and general dining experience means that Glebe Point Diner certainly offers good value for money.
We have visited for birthday parties, entertaining friends from out of town and also for general dining when time and budget allows; I would also be comfortable entertaining business partners there.
Service is unfailingly excellent. We have a two year old who recently decided he wanted to pop in for a visit on the way home from day care: the staff were happy for him to watch the kitchen staff at work in the open-view kitchen, and they also plied him with complementary nibbles while he watched!
A local gem.
