We had two sessions of surfing lessons at Broulee and both time the instructors and equipment was great. they provide wetsuit and board. First we do a warm up and basic lesson on the sand. Then hit the waves. The waves are small at Broulee and great for beginners. My family were really confident after their lesson at surfing the small waves. I would recommend a day where bigger waves are predicted, because one of our days the waves weren't even big enough for beginners to ride well.
Mogo zoo is Great! You can get up really close to the animals. It is informative and fun for not only kids but adults too, everyone enjoyed our time at the Mogo zoo.
Birdland is good if you are sticking to the bay area and have kids. It is quite expensive to get into for what is actually inside. Kids will enjoy it though. But if you have the time I would recommend mogo zoo which adults and kids will enjoy.
The fish is really fresh and the location is superb, overlooking the bay. Not my favorite place to buy fresh fish in the area, but the takeaway and cafe are good for holiday makers.
The food here is SO delicious. It is really worth getting your fish and chips at the boat shed, along with calamari etc. Very tasty food. The seating is adequate but can get extremely busy in the summer holidays. It is a basic fish and chip shop not a restaurant though so do not go with expectations of table service and the like.
Blank Canvas has a great feel to it, with a live musician playing jazzy guitar and the water so close. The food was tasty, especially the scallop starter. This place has a good feel with great food and friendly wait staff. nice place
I really like the outside setting at the SS&A club, it has a really nice atmoshpere with the big water feature. It is a good club, not just for the older generation. There is an outdoor pokies area where people are permitted to smoke.
The Commercial club is OK. It is very good if you are attending an event or function upstairs, the service and food is good for this. But on the ground floor it is a bit drab and really caters for the older generations. At lunch, the cafe section is nice, they do a very tasty iced chocolate or iced coffee.
Huge range of products, all that you will ever need. I was actually recommended by another chemist to go to the chemist warehouse because they had the cream I was looking for. Prescriptions are so much cheaper there than other places.
If you are a member you get really cheap roasts from the bistro. Joining as a social member is only $10 for the whole year, which is what you save off a meal the first time you eat there so I highly recommend it, you can also use the gym on this membership. The atmosphere is relaxed and family friendly. The food is what you would expect at a golf club, the meals are really large with alot of meat.
Approximate cost: $10
