So this Coffee Club I go with my Husband and two children for breakfast. We squeeze in to a table on the outskirt as this child unfriendly Cafe doesn't allow anymore than this. They were not busy - I went up to order despite that squishy weave of tables they won't offer table service???? I order from an unenthused "checkout style" teen and pay $60 - yes really - for breakfast for two and two cookies for the kids.

So the bumbly staff member who was hopefully bound for some type of training spills orange juice over the table and my husband and with no apology throws him a couple dry serviettes does not offer to refill the drink and walks away. 30 minutes later I weave back through the table to ask where the simple bacon and eggs we order are. We eat an overcooked meal and wonder why we bothered.

Approximate cost: $30

Photocontinental is my go to shop for Scrapbooking inspiration. The staff in this particular section are all crafters and very willing impart their wisdom to you. The lovely ladies and some great specials - if you look around make this a truly great experience. The in stock range is better than any I have seen.

Ok so most think that ALDI is a get what you pay for situation well I would say shop there at least once before you make that call. Aldi is my local grocer and I use them frequently. There is a no frills approach to customer service - the customer service is good but staff are scarce - this is a money saver for the company and it return I could literally fill a trolley full of brand name items for $200 - yes sound to good to be true but it is TRUE!. My favourite item in this store is their sundried tomato PESTO - converted many people to this item as it is the best Pesto with the cheapest price. Overall Aldi is a great place to shop if you don't mind do a little work for your savings.

This is the most wonderful Hairdresser on the southside of Brisbane. Val is a small business who is committed to looking after her community. My husband and my two sons can have their haircut here for less than $30 - YES FOR ALL 3! And what a lovely lady she gets full stars from me as she is a faultless business with qualities far exceeding most.

Approximate cost: $7.50
