Red Carpet Removals came to the rescue at the last minute after I had been let down my another removals company. I had to have my piano transported from my home into a storage facility. They took my call on Sunday evening (9pm) and had someone there for the move at 9am the next morning! From the get go, they were prompt, timely, responsive, professional. They got the job done efficiently, safely and effectively, with a smile and were polite all the way through. Highly recommended!

Eight weeks later I needed to move my belongings out of storage and into my new home.... I called on Red Carpet removals again and was not disappointed! Huss & Abz rom made the experience a positive one. They were punctual, polite, friendly, efficient, methodical, attentive and reliable. They moved my belongings into my four bedroom two-storey home (including a piano) with minimal fuss and no damage. Thank you for making my move a hassle-free experience!

I scheduled a move with My Moovers, following some research and general enquiries. I had a 3 bedroom home in a two-storey house, including a piano and needed to move my belongings into a storage facility. My Moovers confirmed that they would be able to do this move safely with two men and a 6-tonne truck. I had the move scheduled for a Sunday. Along the way (during the quote, when confirming the booking and when they called the day prior) I repeatedly noted that I have a piano and asked to confirm that they could move this safely, which they did.

On the day, they arrived an hour later (to be fair they did call at the time they were due to arrive to let me know), then noted that they did not have the right truck or equipment to move the piano. The removalists stated that they were sub contracted and blamed My Moovers for not informing them. They suggested instead that another truck will be sent the same afternoon to move the piano, and they would take the rest of my belongings. It was a Sunday and settlement was organised for the next day, so I had little choice. In the process of packing and loading up the truck, they broke some of the plastic cups for the bed slats. I do understand that accidents happen, but what I found extremely disappointing was that not only did they not apologise and offer to replace them, but they did not even inform me. I happened to walk in the room and notice this myself. Even when I commented, they appeared to shrug the matter off.

As they were wrapping up, they asked me how much I thought they should get paid and I enquired about the piano before payment. They, as well as My Moovers receptionist, encouraged me to make payment on the spot. The receptionist stated that a second truck would be sent later that afternoon at no cost to me, given the inconvenience. I accepted this and made my payment - paying $350 as they had been on the job for 3.5 hours. I refused to make extra payments for stairs or heavy furniture as the removalists requested, noting that this was not listed in the quote. I offered to clarify with My Moovers, and they then told me not to worry about it.

Overall, their approach was superficially friendly (eg: they asked me if I played the piano, and asked me to play something for them) but I found their attitude to be rude and careless at times. I wondered whether they would have had the same attitude if I were not female.

My largest issue though, was that no truck ever turned up for my piano. This is despite the fact that I called My Moovers back to confirm the time for the truck, when the receptionist did not call back as promised. I was provided with a time frame (4pm - 5pm) at this point. When I called towards the end of this period to clarify further, my calls were no longer taken. I was left in the lurch. This resulted in an afternoon of anxiety, stress and frustration. In the end, I had to make last minute arrangements for another removals company to transport my piano to make it in time for settlement, of course at my expense.

I received a phone call from management the following day, who asked me to put my concerns in writing to him, which I did. He stated he would look at a way to resolve this via compensation. Unfortunately, I have not yet heard back and he has not returned my call or texts. I am happy to post further updates, if I do get a response.

Addit: 27/08/16 - I kept trying to make contact, and did manage to get through three days later. I was told that I would receive monetary compensation and would receive payment by 23/08/16. This has not occurred, and they have not responded to my follow up email and text. Extremely frustrated and disappointed and plan to continue to pursue this.
