In my opinion, a little over priced. However it is well set out, with furniture, tools, bric-a-brac, scrap and books sections. The electronics section is in a separate shed to the rest of the area, which again I think is quite over price. That being said, among the expensive are some real bargains, rare they may be though.
A real treasure store! Prices are higher than other tipshops, but this because they only sell stock which could been deemed collectable or antique (old tin toys, retro clothing, clocks). They have an extensive book selection up stairs, which quite are reasonably priced, along with records and dvds/videos. You'll certainly find something that will spark an interest and the best part is they are a not-for-profit organisation!
Pretty standard takeaway store. Burgers and chips mostly. Across the road from K-mart so great for hungry kids after school or shopping. Staff are always friendly, however I've found they stop cooking food at about 4pm which seems like a missed business opportunity to me..
Approximate cost: $6
Aside from the whopping sizes of the burgers and home-style chips, lime mayo is at the top of the list to try this place. Definitely worth a go, your taste buds will thankyou.

Great local store, stocking a variety of fine Tasmanian wines, cheeses, beers and fresh herbs and spices. Still providing all the traditional corner store necessities, such as household needs and fish and chips, this store is a haven of diversity. Whether you need the morning paper and milk or would like to purchase some increasingly famous "Moo Brew", this store has it all.
24 hour convenience and friendly staff. Not the cheapest place around, but they do offer a discount to college students (Elizabeth College is across the road). There's an ATM in store which is always handy when you're in a hurry.
Approximate cost: $10.00
Nice clean pub, great for a meal and a drink with friends. Quite a few well known musicians often play there and it's only a short walk from the Hobart CBD. The real noteable thing about this place though, is that their bottle shop is open 24 hours! Perfect if your dinner party goes that little bit longer than expected.
Approximate cost: $20
The main reason to come to this pub is a huge room filled with pool tables. I've been to many pubs wanting a game of pool with a mate and had to wait with my $2 on the corner of the table. You will never have this problem here. Plenty of room to just sit and enjoy the company of friends and a cold beer. There is a small outside area to have a smoke and chat, if you can pull yourself away from a great pool table!
Great up and coming "dollar shop". Warehouse style store, with "Shiploads" of bargains. Certainly giving chickenfeed a run for it's money. There are a lot of great bargains to be found there.
The best little pub in town is their slogan and they most certainly are! My hands down favorite pub in the entirety of the universe. A complete irish style pub, which is a blast on st. patricks day. 18 beers on tap, most at $8 a pint, live folk music at night, stunning food and they cater for every diet. A heated undercover smoking area outback, roaring wood fire inside, music is never too loud, always friendly staff and fellow patrons.
I can not praise this place enough.
