A fresh smoothie on a hot day is bliss and these guys do not disappoint. Coupled with delicious fresh produce and a beautiful beach at their door stop, it's well worth going to the beach simply to quench your thirst.

I love this shop, so much I have to restrain myself from going in there when I'm in Hobart to prevent myself from buying the whole store. So many books in so many categories! They stock a lot of "alternative" books which really makes broadening your library easy and so much fun. If you're after something you can't find they will order it in for you so definitely a one stop shop, that I find myself stopping at quite a lot.
You will never be disappointed with this store.

The same says it all. A massive variety of African art and jewelery located to the side of Salamanca Square.
There are some really amazing treasures here. Perfect if you're after something special. They host exhibitions occasionally which are always fun and informative.
They also have an ebay store should you find yourself not lucky enough to be able to get the beautiful Hobart waterfront.
Well worth a visit, even just for interests sake.

This review is for Granada Tavern, Berriedale TAS

Now known as "Venue 6" the Granada seems to have lost a little something. They still host a lot of well known artists and have a great bar and food. But it seems recently to have become a little less homely.
That being said, it's a little gem in Tasmanian history.

A great pub, with a area of class and huge dinning area. However, if you like a quite night avoid this place on a Monday, Wednesday and Sunday. They have "round the clock" meals and jugs of beer from 4pm on those days. Which brings a lot of teenagers and people in their 20s looking for a cheap feed and drinks. When I was younger I loved this place, but as I'm getting older I find myself less and less able to put up with waiting at the bar and looking for somewhere to sit. 4 out of 7 days of the week, a great place. Tuesday especially as kids eat free!

This review is for The Coffee Club, Glenorchy TAS

verified email - 21 May 2012

The coffee, I found anyway, was great. That being said, if you're looking for a place to sit with a coffee and a book, you're probably going to want to go elsewhere. Situated at the entrance of a shopping center is generally pretty busy and to accomdate for this it's all tables and chair, no armchairs or lounges. Always seems to be people in suits with laptops there so must be a hotspot for office workers on lunch breaks.
Overall, the coffee is great, personally I opt for the takeaway option though.

Fantastic. You feel bad eating the food because it just looks so good! The coffee actually tastes like coffee, which is becoming a rarity itself in cafes now days.
A great place to treat mum or dad with afternoon tea.

This review is for Night Owl Take Aways, Huonville TAS

verified email - 21 May 2012

The first shop you pass as you enter Huonville. A little busy at times as it a favorite of tradies and truckers alike. Have have somewhat combated this with a ticket system, however the use of this seems to be pretty lax.
The food is pretty fresh, being a busy take away store it doesn't stay there very long.
Probably the best source of greasy food in HuonVille.

This review is for Silk Road Empolo's, Hobart TAS

A great place to shop for that "hard to buy for" person. A variety of jewellery, scarfs and alternative clothing as well as incense, crystals etc. The staff are more than happy to assist you or let you browse at your own pace. The products are good quality and the prices reflect this, though not as high as you might expect.
Definitely worth popping in for a sticky-beak.

This review is for Pancake Train Restaurant, Margate TAS

verified email - 21 May 2012

Pancakes in a train carriage. The idea is awesome. The reality not so much. Being a train carriage the dinning area is, to say the least, cramped. The pancakes themselves are great, the prices however are not.. The kids love it though, I mean who wouldn't want to eat pancakes in a train?! The novelty of this place is the only real enticing aspect, but somehow it manages to be enough.
